th'at the City Recorder sent to each of said persons affected notice of assessment <br /> <br />as provided by .1~. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on January, 21et, 1924, a petition was presented to the Cosmos Court- <br /> <br />oil to open ?ourth Avenue West to the 'East line of Cronerts Addition, and on that <br />date a resolution was passed declaring it expedient that such street be opened, la'_d <br /> <br />out and established and the, City N~gineer empowered amd directed to meJce a survey <br />of such street and a Pl~ thereof, all of which acts have been done, and the city <br />CounCil did by ~rdi~nance No. 3992 ~opb such survey ~d plat ~d re,ri of the <br /> <br />City ~-fnee~,. and ~red ~isk, R.A. NcCully ~d J.W. HoB~s ~hree disinterested fre~ <br />holders were aPpointed as viewers to view such proposed street ~d make ~ essess- <br />men$~ ~f d~eS. ~d benefits as p r ovlded by Section 4, of Chapter ~, of the Charter <br />cf the City ~f ~gene, 'all of which ~ts have been done, ~d the report of said <br /> <br />viewers was f$1ed with the City Recorder on June 9th, 1924. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, On July 14th, 1924 the Common Council passed Ordinance No. 4289 <br /> <br />adopting the report of such viewers on the opening of such street. <br /> <br /> AND ~HEREAS, .~he.Olty Recorder did,mail by registered mall, a notice of said <br />proposed assessment tc each of the parties as essed as to benefits over damages <br /> <br />and ,did also mail to each of said parties affected a notice of damages as assessed <br />and informing each of said parties his right of ~ppeal to the Circui~ Court within <br />twenty da~s from the date of the adopting ol~ the report of such viewers. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, more than twenty days have elapsed since the adopting of such <br /> <br />report and since the sending of each of said parties such registered letters and <br /> <br />no a peal has been made and perfected by said partie~, or any of them. <br /> <br />BE IT THER~ORE RESOLVED: <br /> <br />Tl~e City City Recorder enter 1~ the docket of City Liens the respective Sums <br /> <br />of the benefits over ~damages ass eese~ against the respective parties by such views as <br />shows in their report, upon each particular lot or parcel of l~ld and that the <br /> <br />Recorder seed to e~eh of said person's affected notice of assessment as provided <br />by law. <br /> <br /> A petition was received from the Oregon Stevges a~d Central Motor Bus Co., as <br /> <br />to Routes th'rough the city for sd'ch conveyances amd asking for "No p'arklng space" <br /> <br />on each side of the alley rum"on botth 5th and 6th Avenues.-' Said matter was <br /> <br />referred to th~ollce Committee and the City Faglneer. <br /> <br /> · The Police Coxmnlttee re~d' a-rePort of the fines in the Poltc~ DePt. for the <br />first half of~923 as compared with the first half of 1924, showing the work hez~ <br />increased over 50% ~ln one year and showed the.necessity of the Police ~l{aVlng-a <br />new se~vlee oar ~d; race,ended tha~ a new s~, h.~ ~urchased for said 'd~tment <br /> <br /> <br />
