A ~'etltlon was received for the vacation of ~lrst Avenue East as follows: <br /> <br /> PETITION ~0t~ VACATION OM ?II,ST <br /> AV k~IUE EAST. <br /> <br /> To the Honorable Mayor and Common Council of the City of EUgene: <br /> <br /> The undersigned petitioners, J. 9.Mclfy and Wili l~n T. Culver, represent <br />and show as follows: <br /> <br /> That early in the year 1924 the under signed potitioners and C.O. Peter- <br /> <br />son and duly constituted officers representing the City of EUgene, entered into <br /> <br />certain verbal agreements arising out of the desire and proposal of the City .of <br />~gene to deflect and change ithe course of High Street so as to connect the same <br />width the Municiapl Automobile Park which is located between the Willamette ~l. ver <br />and Skinner's Butte; that the Proposed change involved the turning of the course <br />of High Street in a northwesterly direction on a curve beginning at about the <br />southeast corner of lot 4 in block 1 in ~Age~e City as originally platted by E.~. <br />Skinner in .Lame County, O~egon, now a part of the City of Eugene, Lane County, <br /> <br />Oregon, and running thence on a curve across a part of lot 4 in said bloc!~ 1 and <br /> <br />thence continuing on a curve to a point on ~lOt 1 in said block 1 and thence contln <br /> <br />ulng on a straight line in a northwesterly d~rection across the remainder of said <br />lot I and across t~lrst Avenue East and thence or~wa~d 'to the afore's~id Municipal <br /> <br />Automobile Park; that it Was agreed by and between the-parties above mentioned a- <br />mong other things (1) that all that part of I~lrst Avenue East which is hereinafter <br /> <br />particularly described should be vacated,-(2) that the following particularly <br /> <br />described part of High Street: <br /> <br /> That part ,of High Street as platted and recorded <br /> - in the origina! plat of. the. City of EUgene, Ore- <br /> gon, lying North of the-following described line; <br /> Beginning at the northwest corner of lot ~ of <br /> l~raottonal block"B~ of the Original Plat <br /> · Of the City of Eugene, Oregon, thence West 1 <br /> foot, thence northwesterly along a curve to the <br /> .. _ left whose radius is 162.~1 feet and which is , <br /> tangent at this point to a line 1* West of end <br /> parallel with the West lime of said I~$ 5, 150,64 <br /> feet more er less-~.toiits intersection with the <br /> ~ West lime of~ said High Street, which imtersee- ~ <br /> tiom is 44.05 feet south of the northeast corner <br /> of~Let 1, Bloo~ said original plat of the City· <br /> ef ~geme, Oregon, ~ <br /> <br />should be vacated, ~d (3> that the whole of the alley which ex~e~des North ~d <br />South through Fractional block B in ~eme, CitM a~ o~lgimallM platted b~ ~2. <br />Sktnmer lm ~e County, Oregon, now a part ef the City of ~gene, Lame cowry, <br /> <br />Oregon, should be vacated. <br /> <br /> That l~ was further agreed by the above mentioned parties, ~ong other <br />thlngs~ that J.R.
