Lee and all members of the Co.unoll except Large, who wa~ absent. Meeting called to order by the Mayor. Minutes of the meetings of Jm~e 14, June 28, and June 30,1926, read and approved. ~l~al~ere opened as per the call for grading Birch L~e from Falrmount Blvd' to Maple Street, ~ follows: A. On motion such ~eport was adopted and the May~ ~d ~eeorder were lnst~uet~ to enter Iago a contract with such successful bidder fo~ such eontr~% work. _ B~ds were op~ned as ~r the call for grading Vlotorl~ Blvd. from Mapl6 Street e~sterly to t~ south boundary of Victoria Heights Addition, ~ follows: A. C.Nat hews $8190. O0 h. P. Harmon 7280. O0 Such bids were referr~ to the Street Co~lttee for report and It report~ favorably on the bid ~f L.P. Harmon at $7280. On motion such report was ~opted and the M~yor and Recorde~ere Instructed to enter into a oontrac~ with such successful bidder for such contr~% work. This being the date set to hear.protests for the px~posed assessing of Adams Street from llth to 13th Avenues, protests were called for and none made. A petition was received to pave Washington Street from S.P. Right of way to llth Avenue. The name was referred to the Street Committee for report. It recommended the petition be granted. On motion such report w~s adopted. A petition was received to grade and gravel the alley between l~th and llth Avenues from Jackson to Van Buren Streets. The s~ne was referred To the Street Committee for report. It ree,ommended the petition be granted. On motion such report was adopted. A petition was received to pave 0live Street from 13th to l§th Avenues. The same was referred to the Street Committee for report. It recommended the petition be gran~ ed. On motion such report was alopted. A petition was received to pave Ferry Street bet ween 12th and 13th Aves. The same was referred to the Street Co~aittee. Such committee recommended it be sent back to the petitioners to see if it could not be amended to read from ltth to l~th Avenues, On motion such report was ~topted. A petition was received to pave University Ave. from the end of the pave- meat at 2~rd Avenue south to the Masonic Cemetery. Such matter was referred to the Street Committee to report at the next meeting of the CounCil. . A petition was received to pave 4th Avenue between Blair Street and Polk Street. The same was referred ,o the Street Committee. It recommended the Petition be granted if ProPerty owners put up a bond to cover the difference in the assessed valuation of any lots on said street and the cost of paving. The proposed paving of Jefferson Street from 13th to 19th Avenues ~as discussed, it being agreed the contract w~uld be let under the recent advertising for bids providing the property owners put up a bond to cover the difference in assessed .valuation ef any lots on said s~reet and the cost of paving. A petition was received from the U of 0 asking permission to lay ~ steam heating main across certain streets and alleys In the city. The s~e was referred to the Street Co~lttee. It reco~ended the petition be grated with provlsl,~ the city be properly protected la its rights in the use of such streets ~d alleys. J.A.
