Meet- <br />ing called to o~der by the Ma~or. <br /> A dance hail Ordinance amending the present oral ~ance restriot~g dane~ <br />halls, in the U of O, area, was read the First time ~d di~eUssion called for. <br />The U of 0 ,h~oUgh several members ofits Board of Regents and 2a~hlty appeared <br />and asked for such restr'leted district. Dr. Kuykenda~l, Geo. N. MeNorran, Prof. <br />Meyer and others also aFpeared and ~k~ f~or suchrestrloted district. Such Ordi- <br />nance was read She secondt~e and held over for final passage for a Special <br />meet~g to be-held at 5;00 o'clock P.M. on ~ust 27th, 1926, And the Meoorder <br />was instructed to write Charles H DeVine of such me ~ting so he may appear and <br />discuss such matte~ which will affect his proposed dance hall now building on <br />the mill <br /> <br /> An Ordinance levying assessments for paving Potter St. from' 18th to 23rd <br />Aves., was read the first time and laid over. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance levying assessments for paving 18th Avenue from O~ive to <br />Charnelton Streets, was re'ad the first time and laid over. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to improve the'alley from 18th to 19th Aves., between Willam- <br />ette and Olive Sis., by grading and gravelling the same, was re~i the first <br />time and passed its second and thud readings by title by unanimous consent <br />under suspension of the'rule and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and <br />nays were called, all present voting aye. Nay none..The Ordinance was declared <br />passed and numbered 55y2. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance approv lng and adopting the plans,and specif~ations of the <br />City ~hglneer for the h~provement of the alley between 18th andl9th Aves. from <br />Willame tie and Olive Sis., was read the first ti. me and passed its second and. <br />third readings by title by unanimous consentunder suspension of the rule <br />was placed on its final passage. The ayes and'nays w~re call~ d, all present <br />voting aye. Nay none.
