The~e were pre~ent the Nayor and all members of the <br />Council except NcCully and Rugh who were absent. The Nearing was called to order <br />by the Nayor at 7;30 o'clock P.N. <br /> <br /> This being ~he ,late f,~r hearing protests on thoproposed opening and exten- <br />sion of 18th Avenue from Willamette Street to the West llne of Driverton Ad,iltion <br />protests were called f:)r. C.L. Teshne~ appeared by his attorney S.D. Allen bo <br />protests against the proposedasse:~sments for benefits to his p'~perty. After <br />dlscu3sio~ the whole matter was [~3tpo~ed ~il~ the next meeting of the Council. <br /> <br /> L.P.Harmon appeared a~d asked that an estimate of $1050.00 bepaid him on <br />the Victoria Heights contract ~o he ea~ pay the money to the city as cou~slderatlou <br />£or the purchase price of lots on s,~'th Willamette Street. The eng~neer~as direct- <br />ed to prepare such estimate. <br /> <br /> The City klagineer a.ud City Attorney r ported and fi~ed in writing their <br />fin,tings to the D.W.Nayes claim for e~ustment as to alleged encroackment by the <br />city o~ his property at the cor~r of Ness St. and 2alrm~unt '81vd. On motion <br />such report was ~iopted. <br /> <br /> The City A'tt,~rney reported in writing on the application on Grace T.Noore <br />for a segregation of her property and such re:~ort was filed. On motion such <br />report was adopted. ~ <br /> <br /> The City Attorney reported in writing as to a delinquent tax notice on <br />certain ~ roperty which has been taken off the tax r~ll. He also reported there <br />is a tax ~f $~ .5.52 due on a tract at 2nd and Blair Sis. On motlo~ such report <br />was adopted and the City ~ecorder was directed to pay such tax beforethe end of <br />the month. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney repo~ted in writing as to the proposed vacation of PairmJ~nt <br />Blvd. from l~th Ave. to the S.P.R.~. Co. right of way stating such vacation cannot <br />be made without affecting existing property rights of Interested people. On motion <br />such report was ~dopted. <br /> <br />On mtion the following Resolution was offered and ~maaimously mtopted: <br /> <br /> ~esolved: That the C~nmon Council of the City of E~ge~e Oregon does deem it ' <br />i expedient and neces~*Ary to open, lay out and establish Almaden Street from 6th to <br />,Sth Avenues, and that the City Engineer be and is directed tomake a survey of the <br />lsame, to mark the boundaries thereof, te ~ake a plat thereof, and make ~d fl[e a <br />~writte~ repor~ coatalnl~ a full and complete description of such street and its <br />~bo~darl~, and of the pert leas of each ~ot, part .~f lots er tract of land to be <br />appropriated therefor, <br /> <br />~ Ou motion, th~ following ~esolutien was offered and un~imously adopted: <br /> <br />~ Be It ~esolved, that the following payment with interest thereon at 6% f~m <br />~he date of such receipts be refunded $0 the holders of the reeelpts herein show as <br />ayments of money for street improvements ~n%der the [60 foot rule w~leh improvements <br />ave been reassessed under the ab~%ttlog rule, and the City Treasurer ls hereby <br />uthorized and directed to refund suen payments acco~lngly. <br /> <br />~e~[e M Gilbert 0rdlnanee N.o. 5160 ~eeelpt No. 2792 ~nt ~20.34 <br />~lrst National B~k 0rdln~ee No. 4992 Ree~pt No. 3445~,~at 176.95 <br />~[la E [~razer 0rdlnaace No. 5159 Amount 113.09 <br /> <br />On motion, the following Resolution was offered and unanimously adopted: <br /> <br /> Whereas, on July 6th, 1926, the City of E~gene voted a Bond issue of $165,000,00 <br />~o~r the purpose of procuring funds for use in the extension, construction and <br />reconstrcution of the sewer system of the City <br /> <br /> And Whereas, under the te~ms of Ordine~uce 5627, the Common Council ordered the <br />sa~e of $90,000.00 of said issue to be sold on December 13th, 1~26, at which time <br />1l bids were rejected and by order o~ the Go~mcil such bonds were re~adv~ tls ed <br />or sale o~ January lOth, 1927. and sold to I~erris and Hartgoroe of ¥ortland,Oregon, <br /> <br />NOW T'~ERD~O~E BE IT ~E$OLVED: <br /> <br />That the form of Such bonds with the coupon attached shall as the request. <br /> <br /> <br />
