On motion, the following resolution was adopted: <br /> <br /> Whe~ea,g, the Southern Pacific Co., a corporation, has presented to the <br />council a petition praying the vacation of a portion of Nlalr Street in the <br />City of~Eugene,0regon, said petition particularly describing the said portion <br />sought to be Vacate~l, therefore, <br /> <br /> Be It Resolved, by the Co~mon CounCil o.f the City of E~gene, that the <br /> Reeoz'der be and he 'is hereby directed to file said petition, and to issue mid <br /> post, publish and serve notl~es as required' by law, notifying all' p~r~ons <br /> that th~ said petition ls set for h~arlng of all objections March' 14,1927, at <br />~7;30 O~clock P.M. at the Recorders office, in the City H~ll at M~gene,0r~gor, <br /> at which' tl~ the Co~on Co~Cil wlll t~e action thereon, and said' petition <br /> is hereby set fop heaping at said time ~d place aforesaid. <br /> <br />On motion the following resolutionswa~eoffered and ~nanlmously adopted: <br /> <br /> · Be It ~esolved by the'Co~m~on Council of the City of Eugene, that the <br />City of Eugene build a storm sewer on the south side of 17th Avenue from <br />Villard Street to Walnut Street. <br /> <br /> Be It Further ~esolved, that the City Engineer immediately prepare <br />plans and specifications for such improvement work and the City Recorder <br />advertise for competitive bids forsuch improvement work. <br /> <br /> Be It further Resolved, that the said work be done by the City and that <br />the ~ame be paid for from th~ <br /> <br />Be Xt Resolved, by the Co,m~on Councll of the City of Eugene, that the City <br />of .Eugene build a storm sewer on the east side of Jefferson Street from 12th <br />to 13th Avenues. <br /> <br />Be It Further Resolved, that the City Engineer Immediately prepare plans and <br />specifications forsuch improvement work and the City Recorder advertise for <br />comp,ltltlve bids for such improvement work.. <br /> <br />Be It Further Resolved, that the said ',~ork be done by the City and that <br />the same be paid for from the sewer fund. , <br /> <br /> Be It Resolved by the Common Council of the City of Eugene, that the <br />City of Eugene, build, a storm sewer on the south side ofltth Ave. fnom <br />Agate Street to Orchard Street,, thence south on Orchard Street to 15th Ave- <br />nuo. <br /> <br /> Be It Further ~esolved that the City Engineer immediately prepare plans <br />and specifications for such improvement work and the City Recorder advertise <br />for competitive bids for such improvement work. <br /> <br /> Be It Further Nesolved, that the said work be done by the City and <br />that the same be paid for from the se ~er fund. <br /> <br />An Aerial permit was granted to 0.A. Rlehardson at 265 iSth Ave. W. <br /> <br /> A Communication was received from the U of 0 asking the City to take <br />action toward paving University Street from 15th te 18th Avenues, stating <br />the U of 0 ls ready to pave its portion. SUch matter was referred to the <br />Street Co ~mlttee. <br /> <br /> B.B.Dove filed ~is a plicatton f~ the position of traffic officer for <br />the city. Said matter was referred to the Police Committee. <br /> <br /> }{.B. Taylor filed a Petition asking consideration for what he te~ms <br />"unfiarness" a's to the present Dance Ordinance as the same effects his hall <br />near the U 'of 0. Sal~ matter was referred to the JUdiciary Committee. <br /> <br /> A petition was filed for a light at the corner of Cross Street and Taylor <br />Street the same was referred to the Fire and Water Committee. <br /> <br /> A petltlon was filed to pave 16th AvenUe from Willamette to Alder Sts. <br />The same was referred to the Street Committes. <br /> <br /> A petitlo~.'was flled stating a pest house is being fitted up adjacent <br />to the Eugene Hospital and asking steps be taken to prevent the same being <br />so located. Said matter was referred to the Nealth Committee. <br /> <br /> A petition was filed, asking a street light be installed at the corner <br />of 19th Avenue and.tillyard Sts. said matter was referred to the Fire and <br /> <br /> <br />
