Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon. <br /> February 14th, 1927. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the,regular meeting of the Conunon Cour~cll held at 7;30 o'clock <br />P.M. on ~ebruary 14th, 1927. There were present Mayor A.L.Willt~nson and all <br />members of the council. Minutes of the meetings of Jan. 1Oth, amd Jan. 24th, <br />1927, read and approved. ( <br /> ( <br /> Mr.A.C. Dlxon appeared as a member of a con~mlttee appointed by ~he Chamber <br />of Co~eree of which Mr.~.A. McCully was tho other member of such comlttee, to <br />soo the S P Ry..Co. about establishing a bus line on the streets of the city to <br />replace the street oars. The matter was discussed ~d referred to the Street <br />Comlttee, the City ~glneer and the. Cl%y Attorney to take the matter up with <br />the ~al~way Co., and ~eport. ( <br /> <br /> M. Svarverud appeared as to Malrmount Blvd., and ask~l the street be vacated <br />to the sidewalk llne or within a Foot of the sidewalk line so as to make the <br />lines of the street certain which they are not at this time. Said matter was <br />referred to. the Street Committee, City ~hglneer and City Attorney. <br /> <br /> J.W. Evans appeared and protested as to a fill on the lot in the name <br />of Albert Dl,;k on I~ol mbla Stre~.t be~tween 23rd a:n.d 24th Avenues. He also <br />protested the sewer assessment on th~ same lot. Said matter was referred to the <br />Sewer Committee. <br /> <br /> The proposed Ordinance levy lm,5 assessments for the 24th and ~valrmount Sewer <br />was read the second time and protests called for u~der the notice given. <br />Ida Itoge, C.2. Wilder, J.W. EVans,Bertha VanNeys, and May Rlg.gs appaared and <br />protested for various reasons. J.W. Maltman, L.J. Clave and Ida Hose, also filed <br />written protests for the reasons set forth In the lnstr~neats. Said Ordinance <br />was held over till the next me.etlng ~of the Coum,~il. <br /> <br /> · The Ordinance levying assessments for a sewer 120 feet west of Potter St., <br />was read the second time and protests called for ~ ~er the notice given. J.W. <br />Maltman protested In writing and the 0rdlnanoe was held over till the next <br />meeting of. the Council. <br /> <br /> Bids were called for the c'onstruction' of a sewer on the south side of 13th <br />Avenue from Agate to orchard Sts., as follows: <br /> Stlen Bros. ,!16323.00 <br /> <br />Yunker Wlecks and Co. <br />0 soar Snow <br />C. tS. Co. at $5489.70. 0a motion, such report was <br />adopted and the Mayor and Recorder were aut~t~lzed to enter Into a contact <br />with the successful bidder for such contract work. <br /> <br /> Bids were eall e d fo~ the construction of a sewer On the south side of <br />17th Avenue from'Vlllard to Walnut Sis., as follows:' <br /> Stlen Bros. $3020.50 <br /> Yunker Wlecks and Co. 3501.70 <br /> W.W. Head" Const. Co. 2499.20 <br /> Oscar Snow. 2317.05 <br />Said bids were referred to the Sewer Committee for re2ort and It ~eoo~emded <br />the bid of 0~ear Snow at $2317.05' 0n motion, such report was adopted and <br />the Mayo~ and ~eeorder were authorized to enter into a contract with the <br />successful bldderfor such contr~t work. <br /> <br /> Bids were called for the construction of a sewer on the east side of <br />Jefferson Street from 12~h to 13th Aves., as follows: <br /> Stlen Bros. $578.75 ' <br /> Yunker Wlecks and Jo. 423.50 <br /> 0 se ar Snow 400.75 <br /> W.W. Head Const. Co. 489.00 <br />Said bids were referred to the Sewer Committee for report and tt recommended <br />the bid of Oscar Snow at $400.75. on motion, such report was ~dopted and the <br />Mayor and Recorder were authorized to enter Into a contract with the successfu[ <br />bidder fox' such contract w,trk. <br /> <br /> Bids were colwell for the Audit lng of the City's Books, as follows: <br /> · Collins, and Brown Co. $595.00 <br /> d.
