On motion ouch report ~s adopted, <br />that Almaden St. from 5th to 6th Aves., be paved. On motion such report was <br />adopted. <br /> <br /> The Street Committee rlepo, rted on the estimated co'st of the U of 0 and also <br />to the city to el,~her pave or grade ~d graTel University Street from 13th to <br />17th Aves., and the matter Was discussed. It was finally continued to the next <br />meeting of the Council for 'fur. thor discussion. <br /> <br /> The Mire and water Committee recommended Jack Hayes and D.G. On motion such recommendation w~s adopted. <br /> <br /> The H~.alth Committee recommended the wages of h.G. Helterline as Milk Inspector <br />be paid to March lst, 1927. On motion such report was adopted. <br /> <br /> The Healt~ Co:mnlttee recommended Chas. E. Devine Be appointed as Milk Inspector <br />under the new Ordinance. The Mayor annoucn~d such matter would be continued for <br />the present. <br /> <br /> The Police Committee recommended the following matters each of which was <br />unanimously adoPted, by roll call: ' ' <br /> <br /> 1. That the Pollee BeMartment ~urehase 3 books, 2 ledgers at $1.50 .each <br />and 1 record book at $2.50. <br /> <br /> 2. That the Mire Chief: Street Commissioner;' Building Inspector and his <br />assistant and B.H. parker, 15ark tender, be given badgSs of authority as Police <br />officers andPlaced on the 15olice force without Pay. <br /> <br /> 3. That regular Paid Police officers'be furnished with new badges as <br />requested by Chief of Police. <br /> <br />4. That two additional Patrolmen be emPloyed. <br /> <br />The Mayor nominated J.~LStrait, as Chief of Police, and W.G. Judklns as Captain <br />of Police. On roll call s.uch nominations were mnanimously confirmed. <br /> <br /> The Police Committee recommended a finger Print outflt'b~ Purchased. On <br />roll call such recommendation was a?Proved. <br /> <br /> <br />
