Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon. <br /> October 26th, 1925. <br /> <br /> Minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Common Council held October 26th, 1925, <br />at 7;~0 ~clock P.M. Mayor E.B.Parks, Presided. and all m~bers of the Council wer~ <br />pr es ~n~. ' <br /> <br />The Street Committee reported on walks over the citJ~ which ~uld be built. <br /> <br /> The Street Co.nitres reported over ~7000.00 had been spent from the budgetary <br />all.~wance of that deportment for repairing cuts, pavin~ street car tracks etc., <br />for ~hich ~o credit Is received th~u m~<ing that department short of money to finish <br />'the years work. The matter' was discussed but no action taken. <br /> <br /> The Mayor and other spoke ou the condition of the Polk 8 treet sewer outlet. The <br />Engineer was instructed to tkae 'the matter up with authorities of other cities and <br />r%port as to what can be done. <br /> <br /> C.A. McClain of the Water :~d appeared before the council and flled a '~ritten <br />report on the proposed ?alrmoumt lighting system amd he also spoke thereon. No ac- <br />tion was taken. <br /> <br /> The t~lre and Water Committee recont~endedthe petition to have a street light In- <br />stalled at the corner of 14th Ave. and Kincaid~ St. be gr~mted. On motion such re- <br />port was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The Sewer Committee reported on the petition to abate an open ditch used for <br />sewer purposes at ~11 Falrmount ~lvd. and vicinity and recommended the matter be <br />referred to the Inspector of Buildings with directD)n to have such 'sewer reconstruc~ <br />ed according to law. On motion such report was adopted. <br /> <br /> A d~ed of dedication was presented and accepted by the city for extension of <br />the alley thru Block 2~, Fairmount south thru lot ~, of said block 'to Fairmount Blv4 <br /> <br />The follOw~ng resolution was offered and onmotion unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />R E 8 0 LU T I 0 N. <br /> <br />the following ~ escrlbed premises, to-wit: <br /> <br />Whereas, h'~ retofore the City of Eugene has laid a llne of sewer pipe across <br /> <br />Beginning at the southeast cornerof said lot 2, Block <br />2 and running thence '~estom the south line thereof 100 feet, <br />thence north parallel with the' east boundary there of 50 feet, <br />thence east parallel with the said south line thereof 100 <br />feet, to a point in the eastllne thereof thence south with <br />the eastboundary line of said lot to the p.[aceof beglnnln, g, <br />containing a lot ~0 x 100 feet, lm Lane County, Oregon, ~el- <br />rose Additl n. <br /> <br /> Amd Whereas, at the time of laylng said pipe, in the City of EUgene had not <br />iiright of way for said pipe line, and <br /> <br />'~ Whereas, the City has mow agreed with the sal,.t O.B.Blanton, the mwner of said <br />itr~ct, to cancel the sewer assessment and pay ~lm fifty ($50.00) ~cllars for a <br />~rlght of way across said premises, and <br /> <br /> Whereas, C.B. Blanto~ has executed and delivered to the City of Eugene a right <br />iof way deed In a form approved by the City of EUgene. <br /> <br />i BE IT RESOLVED, by the Co~mmon Council of the City of Eugene that the City <br />~iTreasu,rer and-the City RecoRder be and they are her~ by directed to cancel, the <br />sewer assessment against the above descr~ibed premises. <br /> <br /> A petition was received from the eastslde Impruvement Association asking that <br /> the dirt and debris be removed for streets and walks as left by contractors. Such <br /> matter was referred to the l~llce Co~nlttee~ <br /> <br />,, Att.enrich was calted to the fact there are open toilets_ on Vll[ard St. which <br />i~Sh$u[~ be abated. Such matter was referred to the Health Committee. <br /> <br /> The matterof waSer, sewer amd gas pipes running under the Amazon Ditch were <br />,diScussed and, on motion, all of su~ch pipes were ordered lowered below the lowest <br />point reached in the construction work now being done on such ditch. <br /> <br /> <br />
