Council Chambers, EUgene, Oregon <br /> ~ ' December 21, 19~5. <br /> <br /> · Adjourned meeting of the Common Council held at 4;30 o'clock p.w. on <br />December 21,1~5, there being' ~rese~t the Mayor and all memb%rs cT the Co~on <br />Council. ~eeting c~lled to order by the <br /> <br /> An Ordinance providing ~or the' issuance and sale of $175.000.00 w~rra~t <br />refunding bonds, w~ re~ the first t~e and passed its second and third <br />re~lngs by title by unanimous cohs~nt under suspension of the rule and wa.~ <br />placed on its final pass~e. The ayes and nays were called, all ~resemt vot- <br />ing aye. Nay none. The Ordinance was declared passed and m~bered 5187. <br /> <br /> One sidewalk ~provement crdimamce w~ re~ the first time and passed <br />its second and third readings by title by unanlmo~ e~sent ~der suspension <br />of the. rule and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were call- <br />ed, all present voting aye. Nay none. The Ordinate was declar~ passed and <br />numbered 5188. <br /> <br /> A Peddlers Ordiname was read the first time and referred to the Judiciary <br />Committee' for report. <br /> <br /> The Street Committee reported on th~ bids advertised for the last oounoll <br />meetlng as follows:- <br /> That Oscar Snow be awarded the contract to pave 13th Avenue from Monroe <br />Street to ~dams Street for the'unit bid price of $3012.00. On motion, unani- <br />mously adopted, the report of such committee was approved, and the Mayor and <br />Recorder Instructed %o ent~r ln%o ~ eontr~t with such bidder for s~ld ~prove- <br />me~t Work, _ <br /> <br /> That Oscar Snow be awarded the contract to pave the alley be ween Willam- <br />ette and Ollve'Sbreets from 13th Avenue North to a point 232 feet south of <br />Eleventh Avenue West for the unit bid price of $1202.50. On ~otion, unan{mchsl¥ <br />adopted, the report of such commltte'e ws.s approved, and the Mayor and Recorder <br />instructed to enter into a contract with such bidder for said improvement work. <br /> <br /> That A.C.Mathews, be awarded the con%ra~t to grade and gravel the alley <br />between Onyx and ~lnera.td Streets from 20th to 21st Avenues at tthe unit' bid <br />price of $330.40. On motion, unanimously adopted, the report of such committee <br />was approved, and the Mayor and Recorder Instructed to enter into a contract <br />with such b£dder for said improvement work. <br /> <br /> The l~lnaxce Committee ~ecommended the marrants be released to Oscar Snow <br />under his contract for paving 20th Avenue from Lincoln to Charnelton Streets. <br />On motion, the report of such committee was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The RecOrder called attention to the fact that the old bock machin~ is <br />practically beyond report and that it will be necessary to get a new book <br />machine or a new typewriter With a long carriage to carry wide sheets for a <br />loose leaf system for new record book~ which must be purc hase,t.
