Meeting called to order by the Mayor at 7:30 O~ClOck <br /> . <br /> <br /> As per the call for bids for the sale of $128,498.16, cf Bancroft Improve- <br />ment Bonds,. series ..~ .. , the following bids were subml,tt.ed: <br /> <br />Ralph Schneelgch Company <br /> <br />) Par ~nd accrued interest with interest at <br />)'per annum a~! a premium of $1006.57 for each <br />) $1000.00 of bonds issued. The motion was <br />declared passed and the Mayor ~d Recorder were instructed to.prepare and exe- <br />cute such bonds on behalf of the city for delivery to such successful bidders. <br /> <br /> The Street Committee reported favorably on the petition to gr~e and gravel <br />the atley between University and Onyx Streets from 21st to 22nd Avenues. On <br />motion such report was unanimously adopted. <br /> <br /> The report of the'viewers on the opening of Polk Street from 7th to llth <br />Avenues, was read and unanimously adopted. . <br /> <br /> The City F~glneer filed his estimate of money due Haynes ~ros. on the <br />improvement of the Bridge ae~'oss the Amazon Slough at 16th Avenue and Willamette <br />Street, in the amount of $2443.31. Moved and seconded such bill be paid. The <br />roll was calls d, all present voting aye. The motion was declared passed. <br /> <br /> R.M.Mlller appeared before the council and requested that he be a~lowed to <br />purchase a piece of property at 3rd Avenue and Blair Blvd. no~,vned by the City <br /> of ~geae, he to pay the City $25.00 cash and assume the paving assessments <br />against said piece of property. No official action was taken. <br /> <br /> Three sidewalk improvement ordinances were read the first time a~d pass- <br />ed their second and third re,dings by title by unanimous consent under suspen- <br />sion of the rule and were placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays <br />were called, all present voting aye. Nay none. The O'~'dlnances were declared <br />passed and numbered from 5226 to 5228, both numbers inclusive. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance to improve the alley between University and Onyx Sis. from <br />21st to 22nd Avenues, in the Clty of hl~gene, by gr~lng end gravelling the <br />sene, was read the first time and passed its second and third readings by <br />title by unanimous consent under suspension of the rule and was placed on its <br />final passage. The ayes ami nays were called, all present voting aye. Nay none, <br />The Ordinance Was declared passed and nu:~bered 5229. <br /> <br /> An Ordinance approving and adopting thepl~ns and specifications of the <br />City Engineer for the improvement of the alley between University and Onyx <br />Streets from 21st to 22nd Avenues, was read the first time and passed its <br />second and third readings by title by unanimous consent under suspension of <br />the rule and was placed on its final passage.
