Councl5 Chambers, ~gen'e, oregon. March l, 1926. Minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Co,non Co,~cil held March 1,1926, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. The Mayor and all members of the counell were present, excep~ McCully, absent. Meeting called to order by the Mayor at 7:30 O~ClOck . As per the call for bids for the sale of $128,498.16, cf Bancroft Improve- ment Bonds,. series ..~ .. , the following bids were subml,tt.ed: Ralph Schneelgch Company ) Par ~nd accrued interest with interest at )'per annum a~! a premium of $1006.57 for each ) $1000.00 of bonds issued. ' -Hattrem Nelson and Co. Par and accrued interest with lnteres~s~tS~% Pe~ annum and a pre~lum of.t100.04 per $100~00 of bonds' issued. Gso. H. Moved and seco nded the report of the 2~ce Comnlttee be accepted. The roll was eal~ed, all present vot~g aye, absent and not voting McCully. The motion was declared passed and the Mayor ~d Recorder were instructed to.prepare and exe- cute such bonds on behalf of the city for delivery to such successful bidders. The Street Committee reported favorably on the petition to gr~e and gravel the atley between University and Onyx Streets from 21st to 22nd Avenues. On motion such report was unanimously adopted. The report of the'viewers on the opening of Polk Street from 7th to llth Avenues, was read and unanimously adopted. . The City F~glneer filed his estimate of money due Haynes ~ros. on the improvement of the Bridge ae~'oss the Amazon Slough at 16th Avenue and Willamette Street, in the amount of $2443.31. Moved and seconded such bill be paid. The roll was calls d, all present voting aye. The motion was declared passed. R.M.Mlller appeared before the council and requested that he be a~lowed to purchase a piece of property at 3rd Avenue and Blair Blvd. no~,vned by the City of ~geae, he to pay the City $25.00 cash and assume the paving assessments against said piece of property. No official action was taken. Three sidewalk improvement ordinances were read the first time a~d pass- ed their second and third re,dings by title by unanimous consent under suspen- sion of the rule and were placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all present voting aye. Nay none. The O'~'dlnances were declared passed and numbered from 5226 to 5228, both numbers inclusive. An Ordinance to improve the alley between University and Onyx Sis. from 21st to 22nd Avenues, in the Clty of hl~gene, by gr~lng end gravelling the sene, was read the first time and passed its second and third readings by title by unanimous consent under suspension of the rule and was placed on its final passage. The ayes ami nays were called, all present voting aye. Nay none, The Ordinance Was declared passed and nu:~bered 5229. An Ordinance approving and adopting thepl~ns and specifications of the City Engineer for the improvement of the alley between University and Onyx Streets from 21st to 22nd Avenues, was read the first time and passed its second and third readings by title by unanimous consent under suspension of the rule and was placed on its final passage.
