are intended to accommodate employees, students, residents, commuters, and other <br />persons who expect to leave their bicycle parked for more than 2 hours. Short term <br />bicycle parking spaces accommodate visitors, customers, messengers, and other <br />persons expected to depart within approximately 2 hours. <br />9.6105 Bievele Parkine Standards. <br />(1) Exemptions from Bicycle Parking Standards. The following are exempt <br />from the bicycle parking standards of this section: <br />(a) Site improvements that do not include bicycle parking improvements. <br />(b) Building alterations. <br />(c) Drive - through only establishments. <br />(d) Temporary activities as defined in EC 9.5800 Temporary Activities <br />Special Development Standards. <br />(e) Bicycle parking at Autzen Stadium Complex (see EC 9.6105(5) Autzen <br />Stadium Complex Bicycle Parking Standards). <br />(2) Bicycle Parking Space Standards. <br />(a) A minimum of 4 bicycle parking spaces shall be provided at each <br />development site. <br />(b) A bicycle parking space required by this land use code shall be at least 6 <br />feet long and 2 feet wide with an overhead clearance of at least 7 feet, and <br />with a 5 foot access aisle. This minimum required width for a bicycle <br />parking space maybe reduced to 18" if designed using a hoop rack <br />according to Figure 9.6105(2) Bicycle Parking Standards. Bicycles may <br />be tipped vertically for storage, but not hung above the floor. Bicycle <br />parking shall be provided at ground level unless an elevator is easily <br />accessible to an approved bicycle storage area. <br />(c) All required long term bicycle parking spaces shall be sheltered from <br />precipitation.
