Under most circumstances, employees do not change position numbers when given an <br />acting -in- capacity assignment. If the assignment causes the employee to move across <br />departmental lines, the employee's position number can be changed by submitting a <br />Personnel Action Form (PAF). <br />See the appropriate labor agreement for represented employees link below. <br />NOTE: Acting -in- capacity pay for EPEA and IAFF- represented employees is given <br />when they assume the duties and responsibilities of a higher classification for a <br />temporary period of time. The employee must meet the minimum qualifications for the <br />assigned classification and must perform the full scope of in the assigned <br />classification.
