EUGENE <br />City of Eugene <br />Administrative Policy Manual <br />Date Updated <br />MIA <br />August 1, 2011 <br />Policy Title: Red Circle Pay <br />Purpose: To define red circle pay and applicable employ&nt situations. <br />Scope: All Non - represented City of Eugene employe "MIII � resented employees <br />should refer to the appropriate labor agreement l�l 1111III1,,. <br />Policy Statement: Red circle pay occurs whd'i"i%l ,WlYployee's'- salarjY 119' above the <br />salary range maximum and the pay is frozen or red circle4vor specified period. <br />Policy Procedure: <br />Red Circle Definition <br />"Red circle" is the freezing of anemployee' salary for a period not to exceed 12 months <br />due to reclassification to a lower payfange, a reduction in pay range due to market data <br />or a voluntary job change to avoid la � are not red circled. <br />Red Circle Reclassification <br />When an employ position is reclassified, nd the pay range of the new classification <br />is lower than the Il l'ipry e's pay in the former classification, the employee's salary is <br />red - circled, at the 6 In accordance with this policy, the employees salary <br />remains red - circled til a� i� 1 �� P6 the pay range of the new classification or for a <br />i <br />period of 12 months, Mcheveroo curs first. The employee's salary is red- circled in <br />accordance with this policy. <br />Change in Range Due to Market Study <br />If a market salary study indicates that a classification's pay range needs to be lowered, <br />employees in this classification are red- circled in accordance with this policy. <br />
