Employees rho work night or evening <br />shifts will be transferred to day sh ft ttunnghe time they are actually serving as jurors or <br />witnesses. �' <br />All monies received as witness fees or -11, R11' jury duty except for mileage allowance <br />must be signed over to the City, unless suc ius were earned on a day off or during <br />,y ' fe <br />other authorized with pay. The witne e orjury pay should be brought in <br />person to the FinaI front counter. If mileage allowance is included in the <br />check, Finance will � tur � �ion to the employee, placing the remainder into the <br />general fund. III6. ,e00p <br />This policy does not apply to temporary employees. <br />City Employees as Expert Witnesses <br />With supervisor approval, a City employee may testify as an expert witness for a private <br />party in litigation in which the City is not a party. The employee will be considered to be <br />a private citizen in his/her capacity as an expert witness and must arrange to use <br />personal leave for this purpose. Any preparation for testimony must be done on <br />personal time. The use of City-owned resources or materials for purposes of expert <br />testimony is prohibited.
