Policy Title: Weapons Policy
<br />Purpose: To communicate to employees the City's policy��fated to possession of

<br />having specific statutory and agency authority to possess weo III the performance

<br />Policy Statement: The City of Eugene is committed fdf�pr iiii j-a safe working
<br />environment for all City of Eugene employees, volunt an sterns. In order to meet
<br />this goal, the City of Eugene prohibit ployee, volunteer and intern possession of any
<br />dangerous weapon while on duty ova y other time whi City owned or controlled
<br />building, job site, or vehicle. A �9 in ?SRS 161.015, dpngerous weapon means
<br />any weapon, device, instrume�it, aterial, ar substance which under circumstances in
<br />which it is used, attempted to be usbWto threatened to be used, is readily capable of
<br />causing death or serious physical inju less such possession is authorized by the
<br />City in the performance of the employee dupes. This policy takes precedence over
<br />an employee's permit to carry a concealed Oon.

<br />Pepper mace is n ed uunder the policy, however, employees other than Police
<br />Services personnel re I�oIIII� IIIIIIIIed to use pepper mace in the performance of their
