• Employees must refrain from using City equipment to communicate religious <br />beliefs to other employees when asked to, stop, when the fellow employee <br />demonstrates it is. unwelcome, or where it could be reasonably be assumed to be <br />unwelcome. <br />Guidelines ! r Religious Objects or <br />Decorations <br />Employees may display religious art and literature in their private work space to <br />the same extent that they may display other art and literature, so long as the <br />viewing public would reasonably understand the religious expression to be that of <br />the employee acting in their personal capacity, and not the City's. The focus of <br />the display should be directed "inward" for the employee's personal benefit and <br />viewing, not directed "outward" of the employee's work space towards the <br />surrounding environment. Employees should take into consideration who <br />frequents their office and be sensitive to and respectful of others. <br />• In order to avoid the appearance of an official endorsement of religion, religious <br />objects and decorations should not be displayed in public spaces of the City. <br />Displays in public spaces may have religious content without being or becoming <br />an endorsement by the City if the display has a business purpose and the <br />purpose of the display is to convey other information. <br />Guidelines for Religious Attire <br />e.
