City of Eugene <br />Human Resources <br />Internal Posting Guide <br />Internal Posting Guide <br />This document is intended to outline the guidelines for departments to consider when <br />deciding whether or not they would like to pursue an internal -only recruitment option to <br />fill a vacancy. <br />Internal Posting - Definition of Internal Candidate Pool <br />Internal postings are open to all current City of Eugene regular full time or part -time <br />employees and Limited Duration employees. Temporary employees are not eligible to <br />be considered for Intemal Only job postings. <br />Internal Posting Guidelines /Key Things to Consider <br />1) Internal Applicant Pool <br />a. Is there a high potential for a qualified applicant pool currently within the <br />organization? <br />b. Do we often grow this position from within and have candidates potentially <br />ready to step into this role? <br />c. Are there some areas of specialized technical knowledge and expertise <br />currently within the organization that would be helpful to apply to this <br />position? <br />d. Is the pool strong enough to yield a high performing candidate compared <br />to the available internal /external recruitment pool overall? <br />2) Potential for overall budget savings within the City <br />a. Is there a potential for an overall domino effect with filling this vacancy <br />intemally that could realize some future budget savings?
