This policy applies to all City of Eugene employees except those having specific statutory <br />and agency authority to possess the above weapons in the performance oftheir job duties. <br />Pepper mace is not prohibited under the policy, however, employees other than Police <br />Services personnel are not authorized to use pepper mace in the performance of their j ob <br />duties. <br />Software Piracy <br />It is illegal to use a copy of software outside of the conditions specified in the license. <br />Most purchased PC software is licensed to one person and one PC only. Some software <br />is installed on a Local Area Network (LAN), in which case the license specifies the <br />number of concurrent users. Check the software license to be sure. For further <br />information, refer to the General Policies and Procedures Manual (Section 5C-4). <br />Information Produced or Received in the Course of Work <br />All information produced or received in the course of work is subject to Oregon's Public <br />Records Law (ORS 192.410 to 192.505). E -mail messages, information printed from <br />City computers, computer files, and voice mail messages are all considered property of <br />the City and are subject to search at any time, with or without notice. Inappropriate or <br />offensive messages such as those including racial or sexual slurs, are prohibited. For <br />further information on E -Mail and Voice Mail policies, refer to the APPM. <br />Workplace Violence Policy <br />The City of Eugene is committed to maintaining a safe work environment free of all <br />forms of violence for all City employees, agents of the City, and our customers. Any act <br />of violence or intimidation, including verbal or physical threats, is strictly prohibited at <br />all times. <br />Workplace violence is defined as any act of physical, verbal or written aggression by an <br />individual in or related to the workplace. This includes, but is not limited to, verbal <br />threats or intimidation and physical intimidation, assault or battery by an employee, <br />former employee or any visitor to a City workplace. Workplace violence may also <br />include destruction or abuse of property. It is the responsibility of all employees and <br />agents of the City to create and maintain a work environment free ofworkplace violence. <br />Employees and other agents of the City who experience any form of violence in the <br />workplace, including physical or verbal threats, are expected to report the incident to their <br />supervisor or the police if warranted, as outlined in Administrative Policy & Procedures <br />Manual (APPM) 3 -232. In addition, any City employee having knowledge of a violent <br />act committed in the workplace by any person must also report it to their supervisor. <br />PatentslCop�ghts <br />
