City of Eugene <br />Human Resources <br />Career Development Assistance Program — CDAP <br />• <br />The Career Development Assistance Program is available to assist employees in developing their <br />knowledge, skills, and abilities through a variety of tools, resources, and opportunities. <br />Eligibility <br />A. There are a variety of career development resources and opportunities available to regular <br />employees who have passed probation. These employees may file a formal Career Development <br />Plan or apply for a career development assignment. They may use any information in the Career <br />Development Library in Human Resources. In addition, the City's EAP is a resource to assist <br />employees in identifying their career interests and goals. Recruitment and Selection staff in <br />Human Resources is also available to assist employees with career development planning. <br />B. Employees on probation may use any of the resources in the Career Development Library in <br />Human Resources. Employees are encouraged to use the Career Development Checklist form <br />to document any training or related educational events related to their career interests. <br />Employees on probation are not eligible to file a formal Career Development Plan or to apply for a <br />career development assignment. <br />C. Limited duration employees are not eligible for Career Development assistance, filing a formal <br />Career Development Plan and may not apply for Career Development assignments. Limited <br />duration employees may use the Career Development Library in Human Resources. <br />Career Development Assignments <br />An assignment, formally advertised as a Career Development posting, provides an employee with an <br />opportunity to develop skills, gain knowledge, and acquire experience. Employees need to have a <br />general background and basic skills, but do not need to possess all of the qualifications required of the <br />specific job classification.
