General training <br />includes areas such as supervision, communication skills, and City- oriented training <br />issues. If there is a cost associated with the general trainings, departments are <br />responsible for payment of these costs. Supervisory approval is required for attendance <br />at trainings. <br />Out -of- Organization Training <br />Specialized training is required by many City occupations. If this training is not offered <br />on- the -job or through the City's in -house programs, an effort should be made to contract <br />for this training in the local area when it is cost effective.
