Maybe less options at the store, such as no plastic bags would make me more adamant
about bringing my own. Either way, plastic bags are a waste.
I completely support a plastic bag ban.
You always want to provide *some* option when a shopper either doesn't have a bag or doesn't
have enough of them.
I do not support a ban on plastic bags. I don't use plastic bags often as I much prefer other
options, but this is a silly waste of government effort and community time.
I definitely support a plastic bag due to downstream contamination...
Why not have a contest among the schools for poster art demonstrating the multiple use abilities
of the plastic bag. Require retailers to support and prominently display recycle bins for the bags.
Educate, do not force your will on others..
Any way the city can reduce trash production is a-ok with me. Create incentives and help make it easier for people to
recycle them. Banning bags should not be a top priority for the city of Eugene.
we also re-use & recycle vegetable & bulk purchase food quality plastic bags; mostly these days
bookstores & fast food are our main source of plastic bags. I sure hope the grocery store
collections really do get recycled, as they are our most familiar & convenient recycle-points.
politics at ravensgard dot org
Oppose ban even if there's not 'enough' recycling - in some ways plastic bags are more eco-
friendly than paper and it's not like anyone is ever forced to use them.
I support a ban on plastic bags.
