Attachment D: Text responses from consumer plastic bag ban survey
with curbside recycling
Plastic bags need to stop being manufactured!
While problematic, curbside would be ideal
Present facilities are adequate
present facilites are sufficient
Allow plastic bags to be placed in with the glass recycle bins so that the operator can seperate the
bags from the glass upon pick up.
Many grocery stores have a recycle bin at the entrance of the store - how much easier could it
be?
As we separate glass why not bags
I wish I knew if Sanipac could take these if I so happen to get them.
It would be nice to get sanipac to take them...though I suppose that probably not an option
WE should not allow single use plastic carryout bags! So do not need more options...
i would rather not see them in use.
Recycling stations should be put in the small local (health food) grocery stores.
Perhaps less recycling options, and more education or incentives - charge for bags?
I wish Lane Apex took them so I did not have to make a special trip to recycle them.
Wish there were a way that garbage collectors could collect these plastic bags for recycling. It
would make things a lot more convenient, which would encourage more people to recycle them.
I did not realize you could recycle these bags! I do not know how I missed knowing about this!
IKES.
Outlaw them.
I don't know; we reuse all of ours as indoor trash bags or for cleaning up after the dog. I never
have extras in need of recycling.
They should be banned not recycled.
I think people just need to know where to take them.
I think the public needs to be educated about recycling these bags. My grocery retailer has a
recycle station right inside the store.
My understanding is that they are not efficient to recycle, even when the program works...I'd
rather see this scourge on the planet eradicated like the bad habit that they are.
More people should use them for garbage. Two uses.
Motivate people to swap to paper and cloth instead.
It would be fabulous if I could recycle them in my recycling bin.
It would be good to have access to them to re use rather than to just be recycling them
I don't know.
Sanitation/recycling service should provide customers with the ability to recycle SU plastic
carryout as many retailers who provide only SU plastics don't have recycling bins available - that
OR require retailers to hold recycling bins
Curbside recycling might help reduce waste.
People should have the option to use any kind of bags they want.
It would be helpful if plastic bags could be placed in Sanipac or Lane Apex curbside recycling
containers and recycled that way.
It would be nice to include them in our regular curb side recycling.
Some confusion re plastic bags:

distinguishing among carryout/produce/bread/other product
It would be convenient for the recycle people to include these in their pick up
I think we should get rid of single-use plastic carryout bags. If that is not an option, local waste
haulers should take them.
