LL),c-,\ :J-\l Gv"- I-\~' . .../. ~ 1/ r--- --- r- F'J 0.0 (J, P" NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE EUGENE CITY COUNCIL On Monday May 8, 2006 at 7;30 p.m. in the City Council Chamber at 777 Pearl Street, Eugene, Oregon, the Eugene City Council will hold a public hearing to consider the following ordinance: AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE CHANGE OF STREET NAME OF THE 3RD/4TH CONNECTOR WHICH EXTENDS EAST FROM LINCOLN STREET TO PEARL STREET WITHIN THE CITY OF EUGENE, TO SHELTON McMURPHEY BOULEVARD The adoption of the ordinance is concerning the following item: Street Name Chan2e: 3rd/4th Connector (3rd/4th Avenue) to Shelton McMurohey Boulevard (File Number SC 06-1) The City Council will consider a proposal to change the existing street name from "3rd/4th Connector" (also known as "3rd/4th Avenue") to "Shelton McMurphey Boulevard." The 3rd/4th Connector is a street located east of Lincoln Street and west of Pearl Street; north of the railroad tracks and south of Skinner Butte Park. Three pro~erties abutting the street have an address with the existing street name: 160 East 4th Avenue; 1 West 4t Avenue; and 150 West 4th Avenue. . The proposal would change those addresses to "Shelton McMurphey Boulevard" addresses. Applicable Criteria The Eugene City Council shall apply the following approval criteria from the Eugene Code, Section 9.8485, to the proposed street name change: EC 9.8485 Street Name Change Approval Criteria: The planning commission shall recommend, and the city council shall approve an application for a street name change upon determining that a proposed renaming is in the best interest of the city. Street name change applications are subject to review as a Type IV application pursuant to the Eugene Code Sections EC 9.7400 through EC 9.7455; and Sections EC 9.7065 through EC 9.7095 (quasi- judicial hearing procedures). How to Submit Testimony Testimony may be submitted in three ways: 1. Send a written statement to the City Council. In accordance with Resolution No. 2641 of the Common Council ofthe City of Eugene, all written material to be considered by the Council must be submitted to the City Manager's Office, 777 Pearl Street, Room 105, Eugene., Oregon 97401, no later than 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 3, 2006. 2. Submit a statement at the hearing; however, the City Council will have less of an opportunity to read it before taking action.
