A Letter for the City and Mayor Piercy

Hello, my name is Blake Crawford and this letter is for Mayor Piercy and

members of City Council. I go to school at Prairie Mountain off of Royal Avenue. I

am in eighth grade. I would like to help make the Golden Garden ponds a safe

environment.

A lot of people, young and old, go to the Golden Garden ponds. Four people

have drown in the ponds, I knew three and was really good friends with one of them.

Only four people have drowned there but many have had near death experiences at

the ponds. Although it is very unsafe you can't close it off, people will still find a way

in. Everybody needs to pitch in and make the Golden Garden ponds a much safer

place.

I would be willing to give hours of my time to help make the Golden Garden

ponds a safer place. There are a lot of people in Bethel District area that mayor may

not be able to help financially but will help physically. My parents won't let me go to

the ponds because they are so dangerous. The city should make a memorial for each

person who has died at the ponds.

I hope the city council will here my voice and get to work on the ponds. They

could make a garden to fit the name Golden Garden. They could put up a playground

or a pool to distract people from the ponds. They need to put up signs letting people

know about the vegetation, underwater current, and the fact it is practically sewage.

r
I')
