On motion, such <br />recommendation was adopted. <br /> <br />The Finance Commi ttee recommended :::!,ll bills as herein set out, be paid. On <br />roll call such recommendation was adopted. <br /> <br />Street Committee: <br />The Street Co~~ittee reported on the matter of repairing <br />the streets acljacent to the street car tracks al'J.Q recommended the City repair the <br />same with its own equipment for those areas not rep~ired by the >jouthern Pacific <br />Railway Go. On motion, such recommendation was ad.oJlted, He,(lclershott voting No. <br /> <br />The S tree t C oHuni t tee reported on the mat te I' of the gas pumps on the parking <br />and reco~nended. the Chief of Police be instructed to investigate the pumps and <br />that all pumps not in use be ordered rerwved, the remaining pumps to be left as <br />long as they are in use. <br /> <br />The Street Committee reported on the wlidening of Willamette Street stating <br />the majority of property owners thereon appears to be against it and recommended <br />the matter be tabled. On motion, such recoi11f.1endation was aclopted. <br /> <br />Fire and Water Committee: <br />The Fire and Water Committee spoke on the applica- <br />tion of the Terminal Auto Coat 5th and Willamette Street asking to install a <br />curb gasoline pump and stated he heard of some inside pu@ps in the City. The <br />whole matter was discussed. The Chief of Police was directed to report on inside <br />pumps at the next meeting. <br /> <br />Health Committee: <br />The matter of bills presented for heat, light and water for <br />the Rest Cottage was discussed, there appearing to be some misunderstanding be- <br />tween the County and City in the matter. The .1\1ayor and the Health Committee agree <br />to meet the County Court and settle the dispute. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Chief of Police reported the barn West of Blair Boulevard on which he is <br />to report, is in a sanitary condition except the ground is wet at this time of <br />year. <br /> <br />The Printing Committee had no report to make. <br /> <br />The Sewer Committee recommended a storm sewer be constructed on the South <br />side of 13th Avenue from Moss Street to the alley and the following resolution <br />was offered and unanimously adopted: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED b;y the Gommon Council of the City of Eugene that the City of <br /> <br />Eugene construct a Storm Sewer on the South side of 13th Avenue from Moss Street <br /> <br />to the Alley East of Moss Street. <br />Be it further Resolved that the City :B:ngineer immediately prepare plans and <br /> <br />spec if ica tions for such improvement wOl'k and the City Rec order advert i se com- <br /> <br />petitive bids for such improvement work. <br /> <br />Be it further Resolved that the said work be done by the City and that the same <br /> <br />be paid for from the sewer fund. <br />The Police Co~mittee had no report to make. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The Park Board reported on the ~uestion of leasing the Auto Park and recom- <br />mended the same be not leased.
