Berg and Emma Strand Berg, husband and wifel, have offered the <br />City,$4&l.00 for said property, which, according to the appraisement is all that <br />the property is worth, <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE I T RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene tha,t the Mayor ani <br />Recorder be_and they are hereby directed to execute a bargain and sale deed to <br />Alfred W. Hanns opened discussion regarding action the city shou.ld take in the dis- <br />position of the Jay W. Carr property and asked Charles Paine of tile Rug,h Realty Compa~ to explain <br />the si tua tion. Mr. Paine point:ed out 1:ha. tit had been Mr. Carr's intention to redeem the property <br />but tilat he had been unler the impression that it was tax foreclosure and not lien foreclosure and <br />had always writ-ten the Rugh Real ty Company concerning his taxes. He further stated tha t prior to <br />the time that the city took title to said property, Mr. Carr drew a che,ck for the amount due the ci <br />but that check Was not presented to the city until after the city had taken title by reason of the <br />fact that Mr. Carr is 1 iving in New York City. Mr. Paine requested the council to allow Mr. Carr to <br />redeem his property and expJained that his client is willing to pay all assessments plus the penalty <br />and interest as provided by law. Moved by Hanns and seconded by Reid, it was unanimously approved <br />to allow Mr. Carr to redeem his property and it was so ordered. The $1300.00 offer of Burton B. <br />Youngfbr '\:his property was herewith denied and the previous owner, Jay' W.
