<br />F. Community Health and Education Center--Representatives of the center <br />mentioned that nine months ago the Neighborhood Health Center was <br />formed, due in large part to the efforts of the Westside neighbor- .' <br />hood, Whiteaker neighborhood, and the Community Development Committee. <br />New larger quarters have been opened at 433 West 10th Avenue. There <br />will be an open house Friday and Saturday, January 26 and 27, and all <br />are invited to attend. <br /> <br />G. EIC Organization--Manager announced that the L-COG staff is inviting <br />City representatives to attend the organization of the Economic <br />Improvement Commission. He said that in large part, the City has <br />accepted responsibility for sponsoring the meeting and getting it <br />going. The meeting will be held January 24 at 7:30 p.m., in the <br />Public Service Building. Bill Hamel indicated he would attend on <br />behalf of the City. <br /> <br />H. Legislative Subcommittee Meeting--There will be no legislative sub- <br />committee this week, but Thursday, January 25 has been suggested as <br />the time for first meeting. It was understood that the subcommittee <br />will meet and discuss alternatives for time. <br /> <br />I. Appointments to Boards and Commissions--Manager reminded Councilors of <br />tne January 23 meeting, at which time appointments will be made to <br />various boards and commissions. <br /> <br />J. Salem Legislative Meeting--Manager announced a meeting on Wednesday, <br />January 31 in Salem. There will be a reception at 5:30, with <br />dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />K. Hearings Panel, 1-15-79 Verbal Report Re: Assessments--Mr. Delay <br />announced that the panel unanimously recommended the assessment <br />be approved. <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />II. Routine Items For Council Approval <br /> <br />A. Council Minutes January 10, 1979; Amended Council Minutes of <br />January 3, 1979--Manager noted that there was a typo in the minutes <br />of January 10. The term of Pat Hocken's appointment to the Metro <br />Wastewater Commission should read IIFebruary 1, 1982.11 Also, the <br />January 3 minutes should be changed to read lIadjourned meeting to <br />January 10, 1979. II <br /> <br />B. Police Department Request--Memo has been distributed to Council <br />members asking that they consider authorizing attendence at the <br />California Highway Patrol driver instructor training class for two <br />Police Department officers.
