passenger, the number of anticipated vanpool participants, and the period of time which the <br /> vanpool program will be in effect. If parking fees are imposed, vanpoolers shall receive a <br /> minimum discount of fifty percent of the normal parking fees charged for parking at the <br /> facility. <br /> <br /> 3.3 Parking spaces must be reserved for vanpools and must be labeled or marked <br /> "Carpool/Vanpool Only." The preferential treatment for these spaces may be the location <br /> entrance(s) or exit(s) of the parking lot, near the employee entrance, covered spaces, or <br /> something otherwise considered preferential by the employees. The placement of the parking <br /> spaces must be designated in the construction plans and approved prior to receiving the <br /> Building Permit. <br /> <br /> 4. Guaranteed Ride Home Program. A program guaranteeing a ride home to an <br />employee who uses a commute alternative other than the single occupant vehicle when a ride home <br />is necessary in case of personal or family illness, overtime, or other emergency. There are several <br />options for providing an employee a guaranteed ride home, including taxis, fleet vehicles, rental cars, <br />vanpools, and carpools. The mode for the ride home is often determined by the length of the ride. <br /> <br /> 4.1 Specify the benefit being offered and the eligibility criteria. The benefit may <br /> be an unlimited number of free rides home, or a limited number of free rides with the <br /> employee paying a percentage of the cost of additional fides. <br /> <br /> 4.2 Elig~bihty may be for all employees who did not commute to work in a single <br /> occupant vehicle, or limited to those employees who use a commute alternative at least 2, 3 <br /> or 4 days per week. <br /> <br /> 5. Telecommuting. Work performed at the home or telecommuting center and can <br />include, but is not limited to, the use of telephones, computers, or other similar technology. The work <br />performed would normally be done at the employment worksite, thus eliminating the home to work <br />trip. <br /> <br /> 5.1 Specify the percentage of full-time employees who will be eligible to <br /> telecommute. <br /> <br /> 5.2 Specify how many days per week eligible employees typically telecommute. <br /> <br /> 6. Compressed Work Week. A work hour management strategy that allows the <br />employee to schedule the usual number of work hours in fewer workdays per week or pay period. <br />This schedule regularly allows a full-time employee to eliminate at least one workday every two <br />weeks by working longer hours during the remaining days. <br /> <br /> 6.1 Specify the work week options among which the employees will be able to <br /> choose. <br /> <br /> Administrative Order - 4 <br /> J \e_mmn\00090\l 51 a\00107080 WPD <br /> <br /> <br />
