EXTENSIOi~T OF PARKING TI_~_E PROHIBITED: It shall be unlawful and an offense under this ordinance for any person to deposit or cause to be deposited in a parking meter, a coin for the purpose of extending the parking time beyond the time fixed by this ordinance for parking in the parking space along side of or next to which said parking meter is placed. The display of a sign showing illegal parking on any parking meter while a motor vehicle is parked in a space adjoining said parking meter shall be prlina facie evidence that:said motor vehicle has been parked overtime and beyond the parking period of time. Section 28. REGULATION AS TO COINS AND PROTECTION OF PARKING T~iETERS: It snall be unlawful and an offense to deposit or cause to be deposited in any parking meter, any slug, device or substitute for a coin of the United States. It shall be unlawful and a violation of this Ordinance for any person to deface, injure, temper with, open or wilfully break, destroy or impair the usefulness of any parking miter installed under the terms of this ordinance.. Section 29. FEE EXACTED AS A POLICE REGULATION: The coins required to be deposited as provided by this ordinance are levied as police regulation, supervision and inspection fees, to cover the cost of inspection, supervision and regulation involved in the inspection, installation, operation, control and use of tie parking spaces and parking meters described herein and involved in checking up and regulating the parking of motor vehicles in the parking meter district created by this ordinance. Section 30. Ii~~POUNDTDIG OF AUTOMOBILES: In tYie event any motor vehicle shall be found standing or parked in violation and contrary to any of the provisions of this ordinance, such motor vehicle shall be given a traffic tag, or be removed by the Bureau of Police and taken to a garage and there kept until the applicat~ior for• its redemption shall be made by the owner or his duly authorized agent, who shall be entitled to the possession thereof upon the payment to the City of the sum of (~2.U0). In the event the motor vehicle impounded shall not be redeemed within ten days, then such motor vehicle shall be sold after first publishing once in a newspaper in the City and postion ih three public places a notice of sucYi proposed sale, allto be done ten days before the date of the sale, such notice to describe the automobile and .the time and place of the sale. The impounding fee and cost provided for in this ordinance shall be cumulative of any and all other penalties that may be provided. Section 31. REGULATIONS AS TO LOADING AND UNLOADING Ih? PAR SING PJIETER DISTRICT No person shall stand or park or double park a motor vehicle in a loading zone in the parking meter district for tl~e purpose of loading or unloading passengers at any time. Delivery motor vehicles using parking meter space after twelve otclock noon shall comply with each and all of the provisions of this ordinance relating to the payment of the parking meter fee and time of meter parking. 219 ,.
