~(JV <br />------- -- -- --- -- -- --- - -- - - - -- ~~r-' <br />Depa rtment,through its officers to enforce the provisions of the ordinance. <br />Section 33. COLLECTION OF PARKING METER FEE: It shall be the duty of the <br />City Treasurer to designate either himself or some employee of his office to make <br />regular collection of the money deposited in said parking meters. In this con- <br />nection it shall be the duty of such persons so designated to pick up the sealed <br />cylinders containing the coins as deposited in the parking meters and deliver said <br />cylinders with the seals unbroken to the City Treasurer.'s office. It shall be <br />the duty of the City Tz°easurer's off ice to break the seals and count the funds <br />and deposit the same to the credit of a special fund called "Parking i~7eter Fund", <br />which said fund shall be deposited on order of the Council. <br />Section 34. Taxicabs and for-hire cars shall not park motor vehicles in any <br />parking meter space except for the purpose of loading and discharging passengers, <br />unless such motor vehicle shall pay the fee required by this ordinance, and taxi- <br />cabs and for-hire cars shall stand only in the alloted spaces fixed by the Council <br />by ordinance. It shall be unlawful for bicycles to be parked otherwise than as <br />hereinafter provided and it shall be unlawful for any other vehicle to park in a <br />designated bicycle parking area. <br />BICYCLES <br />Section 35. Bicycles may be parked next to the curb in the same manner <br />as automobiles in any place in the city outside of Fire Zone No. 1 and outside <br />the parking meter area. <br />There is attached hereto, blueprint exhibits designated as f'A,B,C,D,E and F", <br />each exhibit representing a city block and each exhibit designating by numbers <br />parking areas in the meter district, and on each exhibit in red is shown a reserve <br />parking area for bicycles as follows: On Exhibit "A", No. 21; on Exhibit "B", <br />Nos. 19 and 24; on Exhibit "C", No. 20; on Exhibit "Dtt, 1~TO. 20; on Exhibit "E", <br />No. 21; and on Exhibit "F", Nos. 6 and 20. In each of said spaces there shall be <br />provided parking facilities for bicycles and bicycles may be parked in such area <br />for a period not exceeding four hours in the downtown district. In all other <br />parking areas, bicycles shall come under the general terms of this ordinance. <br />Section 36. The City Engineer be and he is hereby directed and authorized <br />to designate each of the reserve parking areas for bicycles upon the street <br />itself by suitable markings. <br />Section 37. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are <br />herewith and 'Hereby repealed to the extent of sucri conflict. <br />Section 38. In addition to any other provisions and penalties provided <br /> <br />in this ordinance, any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance <br />shall, upon conviction thereof in the Recorder's Court of the City of Eugene, be <br />fined not to exceed Two Hundred Dollars(~200.00) and costs, and in default of the <br />payment of such fine and costs, shall be imprisoned in the city jail one day for <br />each two dollars (~p2.00) of such fine unpaid. <br />
