Liquids with a flash point belo~~T 25 degrees Fahrenheit (~4 degrees <br />Centigrade) closed cup tester. <br />Class 11. Lifruids with flash point above that for Class 1 and below 70 <br />degrees Fa.}irenheit (21 degrees Centigrade) closed cup tester. <br />Class 111. Liquids with flash point above that for Class 11 and below 200 <br />degrees Fahrenheit (gj.j degrees Centigrade) closed cup tester. <br />Reoresentative examples of the classes of flammable liquids are: <br />Class 1. <br />Class 11. <br />Ether Alcohl <br />Gasoline Amyl Acetate <br />Naptha Tuluol <br />}~enzol ~ Ethyl Acetate <br />Collodion Methyl Acetate <br />Acetone <br />o,~ MANUFACTURED LIQUID COMI~~IODITIES INCLUDED. <br />Class 111. <br />Kerosene <br />Amyl Alcohl <br />Turpentine <br />Fuel Oil <br />Any manufactured liquid or fluid commodity, such as 'paint, varnish, dryer, <br />cleaning solution and polishing liquid which contains flammable liquids shall be <br />considered a flammable liquid and shall be classified by Section °02 according to the <br />flash point of the mixture. <br />Q0~ PERMITS RERUIRED. <br />Except as specified in Section 905, a permit (which shall be for one or more <br />of the folloi,aing subdivisions) shall be obtained; ' <br />(a) For the storage or handling of a total quantity of Class 1 liquids in <br />excess of one gallon in any dwelling, apartment house or tenement, and in excess of six <br />gallons in any other building, and in excess of ten gallons outside of any building. <br />(b) For the storage or handling of a total quantity of Class 11 liquids <br />in excess of five gallons in any d.we?_ling, apartment house or tenement, and in <br />excess of ten ga7.lons in any other building, and in excess of twenty-five gallons outside <br />of any building. <br />(c) For the storage or handling of a total quantity of Class 111 liquids in <br />er..cess of twenty-five gallons ir_side any builc~irg, and in excess of onehundred-fifty <br />gallons outside of any building. <br />OG7NER OR AGENT MAY USE CERTAIN FLAI~udABLE LI~!UIDS T~iI"'HCUT P"F.MIT. <br />Unless a storage of quantities in excess of those given in Section Q0~ is to be <br />maintained for at 'least thirty days, nothing in this ordinance shall require an owner <br />or occupant or his agent to obtain a permit for the use of, nor does it prohibit the use <br />by him, of paints, oils, irarhishes, and similar falmmable mixtures. <br />406 PERMITS FOR DIFFERENT OCCUPATIONS. <br />All permits shall state the nature of the business of the applicant, the maximum <br />quantity of each class of liquid to be kept, and the location of the storage. Permits <br />shall be listed a.s follows: <br />Garage Permit `(~f~~.th or without storage) <br />Storage Permit <br />Retail Dealers Permit ' <br />' Pa,intert s Permit, ir_cluding Spray Painting <br />Paint and Oil Dealers Permit <br />' Jobbers Permit <br />Manufacturers Permit <br />Dry Cleaners Permit.
