<br />Life Cycle Costs. Life cycle costs were calculated using a 50 year study period, and assuming an
<br />average annual cost escalation rate of 2%. A discount rate of 5% was also used, to compute net
<br />present cost of the entire 50 year set of maintenance costs. Table 14 summarizes the cash flows
<br />and life cycle cost calculations.
