6.8.1. General. A reinspection fee may be assessed for each inspection or <br />reinspection when such portion of work for which inspection is called is not <br />complete or when corrections called for are not made. Reinspection fees also may <br />be assessed when the permit card is not properly posted on the work site, the <br />approved plans are not readily available to the inspector, for failure to provide <br />access on the date for which inspection is requested, or for deviating from plans <br />requiring the approval of the Building Official. <br />6.8.2. Obtaining, a Reinspection. To obtain a reinspection, the applicant <br />shall file an application therefore in writing upon a form furnished for that purpose, <br />and pay the reinspection fee established pursuant to Section 2.020 of the Eugene <br />Code, 1971. In instances where reinspection fees have been assessed, no additional <br />inspection of the work will be performed until the required fees have been paid. <br />6.9 Inspections of Existing Buildinjzs. <br />6.9.1. Inspections. In addition to Building Official inspections authorized <br />elsewhere in these regulations, the Building Official may enter a building or <br />premises whenever the Building Official has reasonable cause to believe that there <br />exists in such building or upon such premises any condition or code violation which <br />makes such building or premises unsafe, dangerous or hazardous. The Building <br />Official may enter such building or premises at all reasonable times to inspect the <br />same or to perform any duty imposed upon the Building Official by such codes. If <br />such building or premises is occupied, the Building Official shall first present <br />proper credentials and request entry; and if such building or premises be <br />unoccupied, he/she shall first make a reasonable effort to locate the owner or other <br />persons having charge or control of the building or premises and request entry. No <br />person shall deny a request for, or interfere or prevent any inspection authorized by <br />this section. Should entry be refused, the Building Official shall have recourse to <br />every remedy provided by law to secure entry, including obtaining a search warrant. <br />6.9.2. Findings. If the Building Official finds violations, the Building <br />Official shall provide written notice of the violations as provided in R -8.005-C-1, <br />and may take any enforcement action authorized by law. <br />6.10 Fire Inspections. <br />6.10.1. Inspections. The Fire Marshal, at all reasonable times, may enter <br />into all buildings and upon all premises, except private residences, for the purpose <br />of conducting routine or periodic inspections to ascertain if fire hazards exist <br />therein or thereon. The Fire Marshal, at all reasonable times, may enter upon and <br />examine any building or premises where there is probable cause to believe that a <br />condition of nonconformity with a fire safety standard or order exists. If such <br />building or premises is occupied, the Fire Marshal shall first present proper <br />credentials and request entry; and if such building or premises be unoccupied, <br />he/she shall first make a reasonable effort to locate the owner or other persons <br />Administrative Order - Page 23 of 40 <br />
