<br />A motiion was made, seconded, and carried directing the Recorder to
<br />advertise for bids for t,he purchase of the old City fire truck.

<br />Mr. Frank Fay Eddy reported generally on the legi:31ative program at
<br />Salem as fJi'ffect;lng municipalifjies and its, tendenc,i.es to break down homerule of
<br />Cities, and calle,d attention to the work being done by the League of Municipal-
<br />ties along legislative lines. The Judiciary Committee recommended that Eugene
<br />join the League of Munici'palities, and that a warrant be drawn for $25.00 in
<br />payment of our dues to said League. Motion was rmde and seconded to adopt such
<br />recommendation. The ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen voting aye, nay,
<br />none.

<br />continued in tbe hands of the 9treet Comm.ittee for further consideration upon the
<br />suggestion that the lmprOVemCLG should be made to cover the pavement further South
<br />than proposed by the petition.
