All in excess <br />of the six per cent limitation upon the C,Lty's tax levy. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />AUIrHORIZING LEVY OF TAX TO PRODUCE $5,000.00 FOR ~~HE CITY <br />PLANNING COMMISSION ANI) FOR A CITY PLAN <br /> <br />CHAR TER AlvlliNDI\lIENT <br /> <br />A N ACT <br /> <br />To amend the Charter of the Ci 1;y of E11€ene by adding a new qhapter <br />thereto, authorizing and empowering the Common Council of thE, City of Eugene to <br />include in it s genar-al tax levy for the year 1929 such,S pecial levy as shall be <br />requ.ired, in the judgment of the CQllliIlO.rl Conncil, to produce not to exceed $5,000.00 <br />for the purpose of securing maps, plans and data for a general City plan and for <br />the promotion of the war}\: of the (.;ity Planning Commission of the City of Eugene. <br />All in exce ss of the cons ti tu tional six per cent limi ta t ion upon the City's tax <br />levy. <br /> <br />THE CITY OF EUGENE, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:, <br /> <br />BE H' ENACTED BY THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF EUGEl'm~ OREGON: <br /> <br />Section 1. The common Council of the City of Eugene, Orego'n, is hereby <br />authorized and empowered to include in it s general municipal tax levy for the <br />year 1929 such f:i.pecial levy upon all of the taxabill,e property in the City of Rugene <br />as slall,in the ~judgment of the Common Council be required, to produce not to <br />exceed ~5,OOO.0() for the purpose of securing maps, plans and data for a general <br />City Plan and for theprol11otion of the wOl'k of the Cit~r Planning Commission of the <br />City of Eugene. <br /> <br />Section 2. The funds .l3ealized i'rom such tax levy shall constitute <br />a special fund clenominated GITY PLA...~NnJG E'UND and. smll be used for no other <br />purpose than the .t:ayin{' of the cost of maps, plans and data for a general <br />City Plan and for the promotion of the ,iol'k of the Cit,y Planning Commission of the; <br />City of Eugem. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Sectlon 3. There is hereby submitted to the people of the City of <br />Eugene the quesijion of whether the Common Council shall levy a tax in the year <br />19G9 in excess of the Constitutional six per cent limitation upon the City's <br />tax levy for the purpose of producing a fu,nd not to exceed $6,000.00 to be used <br />in connection with the work of the City Planning Commission of ,sa.t:d~G.ity and a <br />ovte upon the enactment of' this act by the people of the City of Eugene shall <br />constitute a votie on said question of so exceeding said constitutional limitation. <br /> <br />'llhe foregoing Resolution was on motion, duly adopti ed by the Council. <br /> <br />Bids for the furnishing of gas, oil, g,t'ease, and (listillate were <br />recei ved from t he follow ing: <br /> <br />Shell Oil Co., <br />Standard Oil Co., <br />Van's DIstributing Co., <br />General Petroleum Corporation. <br />Associa ted Oil Co., <br />Union Oil Co. <br /> <br />Said bi ds wex'e re fer red to the Finan ce C ommi t tee for report hack to the <br /> <br />Counc il. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />~ <br />
