A certified check equal to two per cent of the amount bid must accompany each bid as evidence of good faith upon the part of the bidder. Right is reserved to reject any and all bids and the Council ffi83 negotiate a private sale, and sell all or any part of said bonds. The approving opinion of Messrs. Teal, Winfree, McCulloch and Shuler will be rendered the successful bidder. The Common Council will meet at the Council Chambers in the City Hall of Eugene, Oregon, August 11, 1930, at 7:30 o'clock P. M., to open and consider said bids. The City Recorder is hereby authorized and directed to publish a notice embodying the foregoing information in the EtJGENl!; GUARD and in the EUGENE REGISTER, I in at least one issue of such daily newspapers, two weeks prior to the time of the sale. And the Recorder may give any other or further notice that shall seem to him nece ssary or con venien t, either by fur ther publicat ion in newspap ers, or by posting the same. The following resolution and proposed act relating to eligibili ty of. ap- pointive officers regardless of term of residence in the City of Eugene was read, and on motion was adopted: RESOLUT ION. Be It Resolved by the Mayor and Common Counci 1 of the Ci ty of Eugene., Oregon, that there be submitted to the electors of said City for their approval or rejection at the next general or special election held in the city, at such time as the Common Council may by ordinance direct, the annexed charter amendment, en ti tle d; AN ACT Referred by the Common Council of the City of Eugene to the legal voters 0 said city, providing that persons shall be eligible to appointive offices in the City of Eugene, whether they shall have resided in the City of Eugene for one year or not, and whether such appointee is entitled to the privileges of an eleotor in said city, and permitting the employment of such persons by the City of Eugene. The foregoing resolution and proposed Charter Amendment were filed in the office of the City Recorder on the l4th day of July, A. D. 1930.
