He stated that the grading had already been done, but that the <br />Street Department had no money for the graveling of these roads. The problem of <br />graveling was referred to the Park Committee. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Another letter was read from the Western Box Company regarding the con- <br />dition of West First Street, asking that the same be repaired. This matter was <br />referred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br />The Fire and Water Committee, by Chairman Bond, read a letter from R. M. <br />Peterson askingC fo):. special pennission to erect a gas pump at 259 East 5th Street. <br />The Commi.t tee reported adversely on thi s, ~nd, thei r re po rt was appro ved. by the <br />Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Bond reported on the lights on West Park Street, but did not have the <br />figures at hand as to the difference in maintenance, and so was held for WiO weeks <br />for final report. <br /> <br />Mr. Bond reported that the Water Board had agreed to give the city 25 per <br />cent reduction on the City Hall heat bills, and the 1~yor suggested that we should <br />get a better price than that, and the matter was held for two weeks. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />A letter was read petitioning the Council for a street light at the corner <br />of 13th and Van Buren Streets, and was referred to the Fire and Water COlMUttee. <br /> <br />The Health Committee, by Chairman Zumwalt, moved that the following con- <br />I demnations be made: The old bottling works on the Butte, owned by John o'Brien <br />the building at 1391 West 8th Ave, owned by John Jacobson, the old furniture ' <br />hospital at 551t West 8th, owned by Vivian M.
