<br />An ordinance amending Secti,on 3 of Ordinance No. 8425 of the ci ty of Eugene,
<br />entitled "An Ordinance to license, tax and regulate certain games and mechanical
<br />I. devices used therein; and declaring an emergency.", passed by the Common Council- e~.
<br />" May 29, 1935 and approved by the Mayor June 4, 1935 as amended had its second read- ..
<br />1\ ing. At this time a petition signed by 52 merchants and business people was pre- "
<br />sented'by Elmer'Roberts in which petition each and everyone of ' the signers regis-
<br />tered a protest 'against the proposed action of the council to increase the license
<br />fee on pin ball machines from $5.00'to $10.00 per month. Upon motion made and se-
<br />conded that the existing ordinance calling for $5.00 per month license fee be in
<br />effect was put to a vote and councilmen voting in favor of this motion were:- Lamb,
<br />Hendershott, Reid, Page, Hanns, Farrington; nay, Bond and Carlson; absent, 'none.
