National Bank, the alteration to consist of facing with marble the portion of the building; the marble slab veneer to be used is about 3/4" thick and it will require approximately 1/4" or 1/2" addition for lining up and setting. This. request ( 25 was unanimously approved. Letter from the Industrial and statehood Parade of the Oregon Trail Pageant !Association requesting .the city to participate by entering a float in the parade, was granted by the council in that the ~ire and Street Departments are to prepare an ( 26 entry. Petition requesting the council to have the underbrush cleared and trees I trimmed on the parking on the boutheast corner of 5th and Monroe street, was referre to the Park Committee and Park Board. It was pointed out in the petition that the /27 existence of the brush was dangerous to traffic in that it obstructed the view. '.; Petition protesting the maintenance of an incubator factory/auto trailer building, auto wrecking and selling of used cars in the rear of 260 west 12th Avenue /28 was presented and referred to the Planning Commission. Resolution directing the Mayor and Recorder to execute a contract on behalf of the city of Eugene for property sale to D. F. Mains and C. F. Hyde, was upon ,29 motion made and seconded duly approved: RES 0 L UTI 0 N '- WHEREAS, the City of Eugene has acquired the following described property, to-wit: Commencing 100 feet south of the northwest corner of Lot 4, I Block 23, Fairmount Addition, and running thence East 160 feet, thence south 50 feet, thence west 160 feet, and thence North 50 feet to the place of beginning. and - WHEREAS, the City of Eugene has caused the same to be appraised and determined its value, and WHEREAS, the City of EUgen~ gave an option of purchase of said property to Charles F. Frisbee to be exercised before August 22, ! 1937, and said Frisbee has assigned the same to D. F. Mains and I C. F. Hyde, and the said D. F. Mains and C. F. Hyde have offered I I the City $367.72 for said property, whiCh, according to the ap- . praisement is all that the property is worth, Now, Therefore, I BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene that I I the Mayor and Recorder be and they are hereby directed to enter into the annexed contract on behalf of the ~ity of Eugene, and the payments thereunder shall be deposited with the City Treasurer.
