<br />The $1050.00 oash offer of Dr. J. E. Soofield for all o~ Lot 1 and 2, exoept a traot
<br />40 x 100 feet in the southwest corner of Lot 2, Block 18, Hendrick's Amended Addition, was rejected
<br />by the Finance Committee via telephone and a counter-offer of $1250.00 extended by the Committee on
<br />said day. Dr. Scofield responded by inoreasing his offer to $1150.00 with a payment of $500.00 cash
<br />and the balance payable within a year. Upon recommendation of the Finance Connnittee, the offer of
<br />Dr. Soofield for $1150.00 was ordered accepted and upon motion made and duly seconded, resolution
<br />authorizing the Mayor and Recorder to execute a contract on behalf of the purchaser, was unanimousl
<br />adopted by the council:

<br />
<br />Whereas, The City of Eugene has acquired Lot 1 and 2, ex-
<br />oept a tract 40 x 100 feet in the southwest corner of Lot 2,
<br />Block 18, Hendrick's Amended Addition, and
<br />
<br />Whereas, The City of Eugene has caused the same to be ap-
<br />praised and determined its value, and
<br />
<br />Whereas, Dr. J.E. Scofield has offered the City the sum of
<br />$1150.00 for said property, which acoording to the appraise-
<br />ment is all that the property is worth,
<br />
<br />Now, Therefore,
<br />
<br />BE IT RESOLVED, By the Connnon Council of the City of Eugene
<br />that the Mayor and Recorder be and they are hereby directed
<br />to enter into the annexed contraot on behalf of the City of
<br />Eugene, and the $500.00 down payment and all subsequent pay-
<br />ments shall be deposited with the City Treasurer of said City.
<br />
<br />Offer of Earl Kast in -the amount of $1100.00 oash for the same property for wh ich
<br />Dr. J.E. Scofield offered $1150.00, was upon motion made and duly seconded, rejeoted by the council.

<br />Third Offer of N.E. Glass in the amount of $662.42 for part of Lot 5, Block 30, Fair-
<br />motmt Addit:ion~' known as the Elliott-Morek property, was accepted by the Finance Committee on the
<br />coniition tI-at Mr. Glass pay in addition the taxes amotmting to $162.50. Upon motion made and se-
<br />conded, recommendation of the Finance Committee was duly approved.

<br />The $600.00 cash offer of E.B. McCall fur the east 80 or e5 feet of the North 160
<br />feet of Lot 2, Block 28, Fainnount AddItion, was ordered .held by the Finance Connnittee for further
<br />cons ideration and it was so ordered.
<br />
<br />Offer of Robert C. Hall in the amotmt of $1JD0.00 for property described as, "Beginning
<br />a.t a point 150 feet south of 'the Northwest comer of Lot 1, Block 22, Fairmount, running thence
<br />South 55 feet, thence East at right angl~s to the westerly line of Fainnount Boulevard, thence
<br />northerly along the West line 0 f FaInnount Boulevard to a point due East and at right angles to the
<br />place of beginning, thence West to the place of beginning," was denied by the Finance Committee am
<br />a counter-offer of $600.00 extended for the purchaser's consideration. Upon motion made and duly
<br />seoonded, the recommendation of the Finance Committee, was approved by the council.
