<br />At this time Mayor Large appointed John W. Ball, highest on the Civil
<br />Service eligible list, to fill the vacancy created by the illness of Henry Weber, to
<br />takeefrect May 15, 1938 at a salary of $100.00 per month. Upon motion made and se-
<br />conded, the appointment was duly confirmed by the council. '
