Vitu , <br /> respecting the following described propertyk to-wit: (omittea here) permitting the <br /> said~Maurice Vitus and Loretta F.-Vitus to erect a building up to the property <br /> line of Fifth Avepue ~ast, with a provision that at aRY time the City of Eugene sha 1 <br /> widen Fifth Avenue that the buildings shall be dismantled back for seven feet, and <br /> J that no damages shall be claimed by said, Maurice Vitus and Loretta F. Upon motion made by Councilman Lamb and seconded <br /> by Councilman Bond that no change be made in the administrative set-up, practically <br /> all members of the couneil entered the discussion relating to the typ'e 'of work and <br /> the amount of work in order to keep the records in proper shape. The City Treasurer <br /> stated that any proposed change would be entirely up to the council; he had not aske <br /> for the change and he had no intentions of asking for it. The City Attorney address d <br /> ~he council expressing the opinion that it might be well for the City Treasurer to I <br /> acquaint himslef with the~Lien Department wor~ by doing what he could do during his <br /> free time from his duties. Question was called for and the motion was unanimously <br /> 4f approved and it was so ordered. <br /> It was the recommendation of Louis Koppe, Chairman of the Health Committee <br /> that the property at 1600 C,olumbia Street be condemned. Upon motion made and second d <br /> Xthe recommendation was unanimously approved and the City Attorney instructed to take <br /> 42 necessary condemnation proceedings. <br /> At this time Mayor Large brought up the question concerning the necessity <br /> of Eugene to provide a more modern 1:1 nd larger airport. It was the suggestion of <br /> Mayor' Large to appoint a committee to work together with representatives of the <br /> ~\Chamber of Commerce. It was agreed that the Mayor would name these members of the <br /> ~31lcornmlttee at the next council meeting. <br />
