The ayes and nays were called <br />~) councilmen voting aye: Bond, Farrington, Koppe, Barette, Stewart, Brownson, <br />4 Hawn and Pennington; nay: none. The ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8673 <br /> <br />Application for a curb cut was presented from DeWitt Dormer (No. 840) <br />at 1903 Longview Street. The City Engineer recommended that the cut be granted and <br />~~ the recolnmendatlon was unanimously approved. An application for a curb cut was also <br />~~ presented fronl N. T. Crawford, (no. 839) at 303 West Eighth Avenue. The City Engine r <br />'oJ.. recommended that this application be held as he thinks a better arraneement can, be <br />4~'worked out. The recommendation was unanimously approved. <br /> <br />Bids for the installation of traffic signals at 13th and Willamette Streets <br />were presented at athis time. The following bids were presented:' <br /> <br />C & S Electric: a complete price of $1390 and an alternate bid of $1073.00. <br /> <br />,I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />White Elec~ric Company: <br /> <br />A bid of $1535.03. <br /> <br />Owing to some conditions in the G & S bid, Mr. Clubb had requested that he and Mr. <br />Beakey have a few minutes to discuss the matter, which request was granted. A <br />few minutes later Mr. Clubb explained they were not ready to make a recommendation <br />on the bids. Councilman Brownson asked if these bids couldn't be referred to the <br />committee with instructions to act. Councilman Hond explained that .only $1000 <br />had been set up in the budget for this work and he would not care to take the <br />responsibility for spending more than had been budgeted.
