The Ordinance was declared passed and <br /> ! numbered 8746 . <br /> I <br /> 301 A resolution requiring that trucks transporting logs, poles, or piling, be <br /> required to stop at Railway Bridge Crossings was adopted. <br /> RES 0 L UTI 0 N, <br /> ---------- <br /> WHEREAS, heretofore the State Highway Commission has issued rules and reg- <br /> ulations governing the transportation of logs, poles, and piling by motor trucks, <br /> effective July 24, 1941 with ammendments, and <br /> WHEREAS, the aforesaid rules and regulations have been adopted and are sat- <br /> isfactory to the Public Utilities Commission of the State of .oregon, and <br /> WHEREAS , the regulations are for the purpose of minimizing hazards involved <br /> in handling such loads across grade crossings, <br /> Now, therefore, <br /> "BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Eugene endorses the <br /> foregoing regulations and recommends to the Public Utilities Commissioner <br /> that the rules and regulations so issued by the State Highway Commission be I <br /> imposed by the Public Utilities Commissioner's office in connection with, and <br /> as a part of any orders which he may issue authorizing transportation of logs, <br /> poles, or piling by motor truck within the City of Eugene. <br /> A request from the Oregon State Highway Commission for the adoption of <br /> resolutions pertaining to the construction of the new highway at Judkins Point <br /> 31 was read.
