Terms: $100.00 cash, balance at $10.00 or more per month plus interest at 6% (eaat side Polk Street 150 feet south of second avenue.) Appraisal: $350.00 Counter Offer: $350.00 B. R. Adnrus submitted an offer of, $325.00 cash for lot 4, block l~ ZiIl1.mers Addition. (East side Polk Street 150 feet south of second avenue.) Appraisal: $350.00 Counter Offer; $350.00 R. M. Moody submitted an offer $475.00 for lots 1-2-3 block 3, Croner's additipn. TermsL $85.00 cash and the balance at $15.00 or more per month plus interest at 6%. Appraisal: ~2550.00 accept I A motion was made, seconded and carried that the Council accept the recommenda- tion of the Finance Committee. Councilman Farrington reported that the bills for the month of February had been okay'd by the members of the Finance Co~rrittee and was recorMlending that vvarrants be drawn for these. On roll call all Councilmen voting AYE. Councilman Farrington reported regarding the Southern Pacif~c tract at 25th and Uni versi ty near the Tviasonic cemetery. This had been pr'esented the Council on February 28th and an offer had beEn made by the Council of ~100.00 and refused by the Southern Pacific. At this time Councilman Farrington stated that the Finance Committee had looked at this property 2gain in ihe afternoon and there were four lots that the City could ssll after taking a strip for the street and that it was the recoillrrlendation of the Finance Committee that the City offer the Southern Pacific the price of ~260.00. A motion was made by Farrington and seconded by Stewart that the offer of $260.00 be fllade to the Southern Pacific Company for the pirce of land and on vote the motion was carried. Councilman Farrington stated the Finance Cornmittee had investigated the proposal of the Eugene Association of Insurance Agents which was presented to the Council in the letter dated February 14, 1944, re6arding the change in the manner of handlin[ the insurance for the City of Eugene. Councilman Farrillgton stated that it was the recommendation of the Finance COIl1.lllittee that this matter be deferred until the first of the year. A motion was made by Farrington and seconded by Stewart and carried that the recommendation be adopted. Councilman Farrington reported that about a year ago the fWin Oaks Lumber Co. had been given perfllission for a wood yard on a tier of lots on the south side of first between Monroe and VanBuren streets. At this time there were objections by the property owners on the north side of f.irst street and Mr. Farrington stated that conditions were not very satisfactorily there. A motion was made by Councilman Farrington and seconded by Barette that further r'equests for the wood yards by the Twin Oaks Lurrwer Company at this location be not granted. On vote this motion was uarried. I
