The matter of revetment <br />removals, etc., will be taken up at that time." <br /> <br />"4:: <br /> <br />C;) <br />c..; <br />cc <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS: <br /> <br />The following reports of the Board of ~ppeals were submitted and read: <br /> <br />"The Board of Appeals met in the office of the City Engineer, Friday, <br />April 6th at 5:00-P.M. <br />A request was received from Loyall R. Rugh, Realtor, for Mr. C. E. <br />Hammer who desires to build two duplex residences on. the lot at the northwest <br />corner of the intersection of Eighth Avenue and Lawrence Street. This lot is <br />20 66.8 feet on Eighth and 110 feet on Lawrence~ He is. asking for a waiver of <br />set-back, asking for a set-back of fifteen feet on Eighth and a set-back of <br />twenty feet on Lawrence Street. The Board recommends that this request be <br />granted. <br /> <br />A request was received from George H. Friesen asking to be allowed to <br />build a twelve foot addition on the south side of his store building at the <br />northwest corner of the intersection of Agate Street and Twenty-fourth Avenue. <br />This store is in a limites business district and when built was placed to <br />conform to the set-back regulations. The Board recommends that the request <br />for waiver of set-back be denied, but that he be allowed to build an extension <br />on the west end of the building of the same width as the present building. <br />A request was received from Thomas O. Thorson asking to be allowed a <br />waiver of the set-back requirements for an apartment-house on the southeast <br />corner of the intersection of Alder Street aBd Nineteenth Avenue. He is asking <br />for a waiver from 28 feet to 16 feet on Alder Street and from 24 feet to 15 <br />feet on Nineteenth Avenue. The Board recommends that this request be denied." <br /> <br />"At a me eting of the Boa I'd of Appeals he ld in the off'ic e of the City <br />Engineer, Friday, April 6th, a request was received from Mrs. Hattie Bowers <br />asking to be allowed to convert her residence at 1599 Moss Street into two <br />apartments. The Board is ~olding this requeat for more information. <br />A request was received from C. A. Carlson asking. for a recommendation <br />for a fifteen apartment house at 361 East Fourteenth Avenue. This location <br />is in the duplex zone. The Board is holding this request for plans and details. <br />A request was also received from R. A. Bowers asking for a waiver of set- <br />back on Twenty-first Avenue east at Onyx ,Street. This.is a request on a con- <br />ditioned offer for City property. The Board is holding this request for <br />further information." <br /> <br />Motion by Crumbaker, seconded by Davis that the reports be adopted. Motion carri d. <br /> <br />A report from the City Health Board was submitted and read as follows: <br />"At the regular meeting of the City Health Board held April 9, '1945, <br />the following action was taken by that body: It was moved by Dr. Morgan, <br />21 ' seconded by Dr. Hesse, tha t . Council Bill #4, being the proposed Standard Milk <br />Ordinance for the City of Eugene, be passed as amended in several particulars <br />by the Board. Motion carried." <br /> <br />Motion by Hurley, seconded by Davis that the report be adopted. Motion carried. <br /> <br />22 <br /> <br />Permanent report of the Planning Commission relative to denial for re- <br />classifying Horns Addition to Eugene, from a Residential Zone to a Business <br />District was submitted as follows: <br />"As a permanent report pursuant to Resolution of the Cornrnon Council of the <br />City of Eugene directing the City Planning Commission to prepare a report upon <br />the reclassification of certain areas in the City, the City Planning Cornmission <br />hereby adopts as its permanent report the following: 'l'he Planning Commission <br />recoIll!1"ends to the Council that the proposal to reclassify the East 52.8 feet of <br />Lot 19, and the West 81.76 feet of Lot 18, Horn's Addition to EUgene from a <br />single family residence district to a business district be denied." <br /> <br />Motion by Crumbaker, seconded by Koppe that the report be adopted.
