It is further suggested that those
local agencies who will benefit from the improvements of the Amazon Creek drainage,
share the cost of such representation.

The Eugene Chamber of Commerce will bear its share of such cost and it
is proposed to request the Eugene City Council, the Lane County Court and School
District No.4, Eugene, to participate in the total cost, estimated not to exceed
$600.00, of sending this representative east.

We trust that the city's gain in the improvements that would follow from
approval of the Amazon Creek appropriations by Congress will justify your favorable
consideration of this plan."

It was moved by Bailey, seconded by Johnson that the communication be received and
placed on file; that the City Manager be instructed to act as a delegate at the
hearing in Washington, D. C. and that the portion of expense to be borne by the
City be appropriated from Contingency Funds. Motion carried.

A co~~unication from W. T. We have an
I investment in our property of over $26,000.00, and to permit this to be re-zoned
I
1 for business would be objectionable, as we purchased this property for homes after
I a thorough investiga tion of the zoning ordinance at tha t time, and we beg of you
j to deny these r,ealtors request in their petition to re-zone this district."

It was moved by Bailey, seconded by Allen that the co~~unication be received and
placed on file. Motion carried.

"For personal gain and without permission from the property owners,
Stenwick and Kok, Realtors of Eugene, Oregon, have filed a petition to re-zone
the block bounded by Seventh and Eighth Avenue West between Filmore and Almaden
Streets ~rom single family resifrence to classification of unspecified business.
The Planning Commission's hearing is set for May 6, 1947.
