'R-l zone at preseht. The Board recommends <br />that Mrs. Kimball apply for ore.zoning.. <br /> <br />(6) Petition of Mr. Geo. Anderson for permission to add an apartment to his home <br />at 1545 Jefferson St., which is in an R-l zone. The Board recommends that <br />Mr. Anderson apply for rezoning. <br /> <br />(7) Petition of the Sign service Co. for permission to hang a sign at 712 <br />Willamette St. extending six inches beyond the Sigh Code Limits. The Board <br />recommends that the.signcomply with the, Sign Code. <br /> <br />(a) Petition of the Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Co. requesting modification of <br />sprinkler requirements for the basement of their new addition. The Board <br />recommends that the petition be granted." <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that Items No. 2 and 3 as contained <br />in the Board of Appeals rep.or.t 'be . segre.gated and. th.e .balance of the report adopted. <br />.. . <br /> <br />It was further mov~d.by Crumbaker, seconded by Davis that the recommendations of <br />the Board with r.eference.to Items. 2 and 3 in the report, be tabled by the Council <br />in view of the fact that permits for the construction of the Quonset type build- <br />ings could be issued by the Building Department in accordance with building code <br />provision and without the necessity of a waiver. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A permanent report of the Planning Commission was submitted and read as <br />follows: <br /> <br />"As a permanent report .pursuant to the Resolution of said City, directing <br />the City Planning Commission to prepare a report upon certain requests for re- <br />classification and zoning of areas within said City, the City Planning Commission <br />adopts as its permanent report. the. following:. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommends that the following rezoning and change <br />of classification. petition be allowed,. to-wit: <br /> <br />WILL KNIGHT:' The north 95 feet of the West 114'feet of Lot 7 in <br />'Douglass Addition .to Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. Property located <br />at Southeast corner of 13th and Polk Streets. Requested change <br />from R-l (Residential) classification to R-3 (Multiple Family) <br />classification. <br /> <br />and further recommends that the classification of the following described reai <br />property not'be changed at the present time but that it be reclassified in the <br />new zoning ordinance, to-wit: <br /> <br />Real property bounded by Orchard Street on the East, 14th Avenue from <br />Orchard to alley running North and South between Orchard and Villard <br />on the North; the alley running North and South between Orchard and <br />Villard from 14th Avenue to 15th Avenue. on the West; 15th Avenue from <br />the alley to Orchard on the South. Requested change from single <br />family residence district to Limited Industrial. .District." <br /> <br />It was moved by Davis, sec,onded by Wells that the report of the Planning Com- <br />mission be received and plac,ed on file and that the recommendations contained <br />therein be approved. .Motion.carried. <br /> <br />PETITIONS AND COMMUNICAT.IONS <br /> <br />11 <br /> <br />The following applications for rezoning were submitted: <br /> <br />R. H. Chapman, 242 West 6th Ave., to be reclassified from R-2 (Apt.) to <br />I-2 (Light Industr.ial) <br /> <br />Mrs. Gay S. Moore, Almaden St. between 5th and 6th (Lot 7, Block 4) to be <br />reclassified from R-l (Single Family) to R-3 (Multiple <br />Family) <br /> <br />R. R. Fenn, 24th & Hilyard to be reclassified from R-l (Single Family <br />Residence) to B-1 (Business.
