<br />~016 <br /> <br />'V',F <br /> <br />I-"" <br />~ <br />.:r;. <br /> <br />A communication from Percy Brown re: audit of financial records of the City <br />of Eugene, was submitted and, read. <br /> <br />"We have audited the financ.ial records of the City of Eugene for the <br />quarter ending December 31, 1947 and find that all funds have been <br />properly accounted for and all records properly kept." <br /> <br />It was moved by Davis, seconded by Crumbaker that the communication be received <br />and placed on file. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"J~3 <br /> <br />fi:.,",~ <br /> <br />.: ." <br /> <br />14 <br /> <br />A communication from the Eugene Water Board re: retention of Augustus Parker" <br />Water Board Employee, for a period of one year, was submitted and read. <br /> <br />"In accordance with instructions received from the Public Employes <br />Retirement System, the Eugene Water Board hereby requests that the <br />Common Council of Eugene recommend ,to the Public Employes Retirement <br />System that the following Eugene Water Board "over-age" employee be <br />retained on the Eugene Water Board payroll for a period of one year, <br />May 1, 1948 to May 1, .1949. <br />14814 Parker, Augustus, Equip. Operator III" <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that the communication be received <br />and placed on file and that the request for extension be made by the proper city <br />officers "as petitioned by the Eugene Water Board. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A petition by R. W. McInnis for installation of street lights on 18th Avenue <br />at Patterson and Ferry was submitted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />15 <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Davis that the petition for street lights <br />be approved and that an order be placed with the Eugene vVater Board for instal- <br />lation of the same. Motion carried. <br /> <br />16 <br /> <br />The following applications for rooming house licenses were submitted. <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />Ruth Spier, 473 High Street <br />Hilda Viles, 648 West 5th <br />Eugene Hotel, Broadwayan~ Pearl. <br /> <br />It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Davis that the applications as approved by the <br />Police, Fire and Health, Departments, be endorsed. Motion carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />17 <br /> <br />A petition to rezone property at 2305 East 15th from R-l (Single Family) to <br />R-2 (Any :size apartments) classification, was submitted by Ly:nn and Floye Norman. <br /> <br />It was moved by Johnson, seconded by Hanns that the petition be referred to the <br />Planning Commission by the necessary resolution. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A petition sfgned by Rovert A; Holland and 8 others for the installation of a <br />18 sanitary sewer on Onyx from 26th to 28th, was submitted. <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that the petition be received and <br />placed on file and that the necessary improvement ordinance be drawn, and that the <br />engineer prepare a report for consideration by the Council for further extension <br />of sewers in the balance of the Inavale area. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A petition for the improvement of Taylor Street 'between 11th and 12th Avenues <br />19 West, was' submitted' by R. C. Wical and 6 others. <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Hawn that the petition be received and <br />placed on file and that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare the necessary <br />improvement ordinances. ,Motion carried. <br /> <br />20 <br /> <br />A petition for the vacation of Short Street between Spring Boulevard and 23rd <br />Avenue was submitted by John Ski,ll.ern and 2 others. <br /> <br />It was moved by Crumbaker, seconded by Johnson that the petition be received and <br />placed on file and that the matter be referred to the Public Works ,Committee. <br />Motion carried. · <br /> <br />A communication from Olif Culp requesting vacation of the alley betwe'en 5th <br />21 and 6th, Pierce and Filmore for one-half block, was submitted and read. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />"A request is hereby made of the Common Council for favorable consideration to;, <br />a petition for vacating the alley between 5th and 6th and Pierce and Filmore in <br />Block 3 of Grand Prairie Addition, for one-half block.
